 I know, intelligence, integrity, and looking distinguished or HOT! works. Thanks, Tay Tay.
I heard the blivet speech, but not much of the response. I watched ABC w/Koppel for awhile, but turned after some of it.

1. Hey welcome.
You are most welcome here. A lot of us hold you in high regard for your spirited defense of Sen. Kerry in DU. Thanks for getting his back.

And welcome. There is a rather large faction of us in here who are quite fond of Sen. Kerry in ways that exceed politics. He is just yummy. Just yummy.

We are LLL: Libidinous liberal lasses love looking longingly at lanky leaders. (Just LLL for short.) Been that way since this group was founded. Cuz, ahm, we have eyes. (And are liberal lasses.)

Our esteemed male posters put up with us, cuz, I think they get a kcik out of lasses looking longingly.

I love the "just yummy" reference, and Theresa adores it/him!
I absolutely love the L (to the third-tiny little 3 up in the right hand corner). What took me so long? Liberal lasses with eyes, and libidinous to boot? Whoo hoo!

Ahm, we have a lot of very serious discussions in here too! But the 'yummy' is always there in the background.

Come out of the closet and admit it. He is one damn fine man. It's okay, you are among friends in here.

There is this strange karma in this group. Everyone who comes in here goes, really, you like him for more than his, ah, position papers as well? Really? I thought I was the only one.

Nope. Maybe others will sign into this thread and let you know you are not alone. At all. Really.

So, where ya from, how;s it going, you know, intro stuff.

At all? Not even a twinge? I admit, some days he photographs better than others, but--I actually thought he was hot BEFORE he had all of that work done last year, which he also wears very well. I mean, maybe I've just not that hard to please when it comes to him. You don't SEE it?

He looks the same to me as he did in 2002. (Or 2000 or 1998 or whenever it was that his hair started to go salt-n-pepper or badger-silver as the case may be.)

Who says he had work done? When did he have the time?

21. I figure our
proximity and obsession (), combined with number of years on the job, should be enough to put this idiotic rumor to rest.

It's meaningless and dumb, but this one really annoys me. Because

1.) it was invented by the Rovian right to make Kerry look vain and ridiculous.

2.) there is no evidence that it has any basis in fact. In spite of the fact that Kerry looks different in different photos (as does the unspeakable *, I might add).

3.) it's just one more "hey, look over there!" item to distract people from the true issues. If Kerry fans still think it's true, imagine how many people out there take it as proven fact?

So fan out, people, and spread the word. I've known the guy for nearly 35 years. No botox. No facelift.

22. Seriously, he seems to have aged
albeit slowly becaue he is in really good shape. (Really, really good shape. Fantastic shape actually, hmmm, where was I?) Oh yea, ahm, I remember Lt. Gov Kerry, and Sen Kerry and that accounts for 22+ years. (Plus all those appearances on local TV that pre-date Lt. Gov Kerry.) He has aged like you think he would have. (Except slowly, cuz he's in really good shape. Especially in jeans. And shirtsleeves. Hmmmmm. Where was I? Oh yeah.)

You know, this comes up in MA sometimes. I know a person who had an occasion to met Sen. Kerry many years ago at a social function. She went up and started talking to him right off. This was a swanky event and there were other 'celebs' in the room, some of whom my 'friend' could actually identify. So I asked why this girl went up to talk to my greatly esteemed Jr. Senator. "Highest point in the room." She didn't just mean the height. Highest point in the room, indeed. No botox or 'work done' needed.

Edited on Fri Sep-16-05 02:03 PM by whometense
I know I've said this before, but I think it bears repeating here. He glows from within. It sounds hokey and overly worshipful, but it's true. The man has charisma to burn. It doesn't necessarily translate in photos, though.

I don't understand why you keep losing your train - of - thought - where was I?

Oh yeah. Here:

What was I saying. . . ???? Yeah. Some lines, some weatherbeating, lots of character. THAT is a beautiful face.

24. Yeah. I remember seeing him years ago
when I worked in town. This was a 'thank the voters' thing after an election. (I knew it was him, cuz he's so tall and towered over everyone who passed by.) And he had either that same long black overcoat for years and years or conerned the market in Tall Men's Black overcoats. (Hmmmm, tall guy, thick black hair, nice smile, sweet gesture to go out and thank the voters, hmmmmmm, where was I?)

Oh yeah. Hmmmmm. Highest point in the room. Yeah.

28. This was the only photograph that confused me

He looks somewhat hangdog, but then again sometimes when he's tired and such he does look hangdog. And then the next time I see him he looks radiant, as in my Texas photo. Seems to depend on the light and the day and how much he's eating and sleeping.

Of course it was even more heinous when they accused him of botoxing from a photograph taken WHILE HE WAS IN CHEMO!

29. I think it totally depends of the lighting, angle, etc.
Because he does have sharp facial features, I think he just photographs better from certain angles. (Don't we all?) Also, I think because so many photographs have been taken of him over the years, it's easy to find a few unflattering ones. This seems to be true of most people in the public eye weather they are politicians or Hollywood celebrities. And as you know, a bad photograph can and will be used against you!

37. Hmmm. Okay. I thought the plastic surgery was a known thing.
Yes, I read about it somewhere. For the record, the site did not have a rightist slant--it was slanted in the other direction, and no, it wasn't filled with crazy anti-Kerry pseudo-Dems. No, I'm not going to post the URL. I'm glad to know JK is still "all natural." I, personally, can see how people think he's had work done, though. If it's angles and lighting and other things, okay. But even I thought I saw a change in facial features between fall of '03 and spring of '04. And I want to be very clear: I honestly couldn't care less. I still want to make out with him.

38. It's because of that clicking jaw problem
Kerry had surgery to correct a problem. I am not a doctor and can't even fake it here, but I know two people who had that 'clicking jaw' problem who had surgery to fix it and neither one of 'em woke up looking like Kerry. (Geez, one was my own husband, I oughta know.) People say he had 'work done' on his jaw. No matter the evidence, people think it was cosmetic and it wasn't. (Neither was my husbands.)

And I'm so glad that you were unharmed by the storm. And I'm more than happy to be talking with you again.

I can be a bit on the crude side. This is ruining my reputation as aloof, reserved and wooden. Crap. On the other hand, poor Pickles. She has to wake up to that guy every morning. I swear, last year, after one of the debates, I saw her checking Kerry out. Then she sort of sighed. When you think of the 'Mission accomplished' thing, it isn't hard to figure out why.

I can imagine her conversation with Teresa at the debates. "My, my, my Teresa, I never noticed what big hands your husband has. My George has small hands, kind of delicate, but your husband has, ah, really big hands. Sigh!"

Can you imagine being a Rethug and seeing someone with attributes to appreciate and having to repress it cuz, ahm, you're a Rethug and real Rethugs don't have any urges besides the need to screw the poor. (And that is not very satisfying in the long run.)

Dem women have healthy alternatives. We don't have to repress. (We have to phrase it right for the benefit of the DU mods, but that is a challenge, not a concession.) Poor, poor Rethugs. I don't know how they do it. ("Close your eyes dear and think of free market economics. Then brace yourself.") Arck, yuck, phooey.
