GUYS: TOO CROWDED, I DID NOT GETIN!
And I'm wicked tired for the nonce. I drove to Providence and only got lost Twice. (Yeah me!) And I stood in line for an hour and at4:00 they told us to go home as there was no more room. So I drove the 80 miles home. I only have two crowd pics. All college kids (Boy, do I feel old.)
Brown is very nice. The people are very nice. Od lefty freepers are not very nice to listen to for an hour with no payoff. Sigh!

Oh well, Perhpas Senator Kerry will come to my state some day and give a Major Address. I would like to see that.

Sorry, I tried.

1. Oh, TayTay,
Edited on Mon Sep-19-05 05:27 PM by whometense
I'm so sorry!!!!

I guess it's very very small consolation right at this moment that there were so many people who wanted to see him.

Edited to add: Let's see if that inconvenient fact makes it into any of the reporting. Did you see any news cameras there?

3. That's sad
but it sounds like he's planning more speeches on various issues. I'm surprised they let you guys stand in line for an hour without realizing there wouldn't be room. There must have been way too many people.

4. Oh noooo
How awful. :( And you, a constituent and everything. No, it just isn't right and you should definitely let him know he better take care of his home state people pretty soon.

But was it a pretty drive? Are the leaves changing yet or anything?

It had to have been wonderful in person! RATS!! I was thinking of going, now I'm glad I didn't. I can't afford to waste that much Gasoline!! I'm having to "ration" my traveling except for work and errands. Got your email, and If I forgot to reply, I'll do it later. Have to feed my pup, and myself now. Talk to ya all later. DC

6. Hey, Lighten up. Nobody died and it was a nice drive

I didn't mind. I now know how to get around Providence. Considering that one of my son's colleges he wants to look at is in Providence, I gained something. (Plus I got lost and didn't freak out, as I usually do. That's not nothing.)

Hey, you win some, you lose some. If I had known that they would have needed a hall that was 2 or 3 times the one they had (that sat 500 and the overflow room sat 200) I would have left earlier. Boo-boo-frickety-hoo. It's not about me.

And may I say that this speech reads great! All those young kids in line (boy, did I feel old) must have just loved it. I think there was an age limit at this speech. You have to be under 22 to get in. (And part of me adores that. I want younger people involved. I know Kerry's positions on stuff. I am thrilled beyond words that this line to get in was so friggin huge. That's not nothing either.)

I adore this speech. It was, as I predicted (Yeah me) a barn-burner. Best 'Moooootttttterrrrrffffffuuuuuuuucccckkkkkkkeeeerrrrrrsss' I've heard Kerry deliver in quite a while. Nice to have you back Senator. Go give 'em hell. (And, ahm, if it's not too much trouble, please deliver a speech near me in a big hall. Other than that, you fucking rocked today. I mean you fucking rocked. Did me proud, I'm all verklempt. Now go forth and kick some Rethug ass. I got your back, Sentah.)

7. At least you tried
but it proves that everyone wants to hear John Kerry speak. I heard he might be coming to Virginia soon, I hope he comes to our area. Looks like if he does I better plan on getting there real early.

8. Also shows the nobody likes him is a total lie
All these events he's done seem to be set up with very little lead time and he's getting crowds - even though he's not running for anything.

I really hope they put it on CSPAN.

9. I asked the nice Geology Major behind me in line
when he first heard about this and he said he got a flyer about it last week. So there was very little lead time.

Most of the line was college students. (Boy did I feel old.) But there were a few older people. One couple I met show the absolute hazard of growing old before divesting yourself of lefty freeperisms. Yeesh. A nice young man came along and asked RIers to sign a good government petition. This couple grilled him on this, were snarky about it, proclaimed that they couldn't sign something until they checked it out because they were, 'politically connected' (whatever the hell that means) and then blew the guy off with a, 'I never sign anything until I've read it all" comments. Ah, old lefty freepers, bite me! Gawd in heaven.

If they were so 'politically connected' how come they didn't get in either. (Well, Sen. Kerry cn count his blessings on that one.) Thank goodness for all the signs! There were a bunch of college students who brought signs that they had to abandon outside the hall that were very positive and encouraging. Ah, that was nice to see.

10. potty-mouth.

Kidding.

I don't believe you, though. You are being much too brave. I know you're from Mass, but let it out. Tears are cleansing.

Seriously, that had to be candy bar in in the vending machine and you only have .60, and the candy bar costs .65 and you really need some chocolate and no one will give you a nickel tough.

I hope you get to see him soon. He is your Senator, after all. And you should be very proud of him.

He was fucking awesome.

11. In all honesty, no, not really
Seriously, it's okay. I tried. It didn't work out. So be it. I'll, ah, get him next time. (Ahm, nobody 'did' anything to me, it's just bad planning. It happens. Nothing personal.)

I am, though, rather proud of my prediction skills. My Kerry-dar (gawd-awful unlovely term, I know, but that's what it is) was ringing off the hook as soon as I heard about this speech. I told Whome that I just thought this was going to be a hum-dinger of a speech and it was.

And, as long as you are granting me a 'gimme' I will say that Sen. Kerry sounded like a Masshole today. (Not a pejorative.) He sounded like one pissed-off, honest, turn-around and give 'em both barrels, I'm tired of this bullshit, Masshole. Whome and I have said repeatedly that Kerry is indeed a graceful and well-spoken man. And we have also said, repeatedly, that he is a genuine son of Massachusetts. Well, that's what we sound like. This is a state founded on the principle that you speak up and give 'em both barrels when the situation calls for it. Massachusetts is very proud of it's tradition of dissent, of loudly screaming that something is wrong and we're not gonna take anymore. And boy oh boy, did MY Sentah carry on this tradition today. Oh I'm so glad I voted for that man everytime his name was on a ballot in front of me.

Way to go Sentah! You f*cking rocked today. You were wicked pissed and you turned around and gave it to 'em. Done the state proud. Not bad for that aloof, reserved and gentlemanly guy from Boston, eh? I am too proud to feel bad for myself. And that's the truth.

You complete me! You take my pissy Masshole self and add depth and emotion and feeling. (Gawd, sounds like a movie I saw once.)

PA & MA forever! (I'm working on that cloning thing. Tell the truth, wouldn't it be nice to have a PA Sen taking names and kicking ass right about now? Okay, I'll share mine. Wouldn't that make up for not seeing him in person.)

EDIT: Pissy TayTay comment: (she can be such a bitch) If I had Santorum as a Sen, I'd cry a lot too. Cloning program in process. I swear!
