Romney Considered to Lead Katrina Recovery
Could we get rid of him sooner than expected (not sure it would be a good thing or not).

"As the White House gears up for the massive job of rebuilding hurricane-stricken areas, there's been talk of bringing in someone like" Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R) "to oversee the project. And CBS4 News has learned there may be more to that than just talk."

"Two top Republican sources tell CBS4 News that GOP officials have made tentative inquiries about Romney's availability to help guide the recovery.

2. For the good of the nation
Bush may take Romney. I'll make do with Barbie. Everyone has to do their part in this disaster and if MA has to give up their Rethug Gov, then so be it.

Who says we ain't a patriotic state? (Wonder what Kerry thinks of this.)

3. Presidential material??
If this puts him "out there" for 2008, how would he look next to Giuliani? Can JK or Hillary beat him? BTW, who the hell voted for this guy in Massachusetts????

4. He did the W thing

He masqueraded as a moderate repub. His opponent was a weak candidate (SHOULD have been Robert Reich, but don't get me started). People fell for his line of snake oil, and because they didn't much like Shannon O'Brien. I admit I didn't like her either. Voted for her, but didn't like her.

6. He is leaving Brandeis and will be at UC-Berkeley
He will retain a home in Mass, but the weather got to him. I wanted to vote for him, but he entered the race late and never really got rolling. I really liked the man.

7. I think he might have done it
if he hadn't had such a late start. Our loss, for sure. :-(

9. But do we really want to inflict him
on the already-suffering people of the Gulf region?

Then again, if Mittens is tainted by association with *, it might kill his chances at the WH is 2008. Hmm...

Weird stuff. Men like him; women not so much. But what's up with his approval among black respondents?? That was a big surprise to me.

And hispanic voters?? Man!!! What did he do to piss them off???

10. I think black voters is the result of Romney photo ops on Katrina
Edited on Tue Sep-20-05 03:34 PM by Mass
Look, it changed just last month (and also the size of the sample : 5 % of the total sample). Hispanic's rating drops by a lot as well. I imagine these two samples are about 30 people each and a huge margin of error).

(MOE is the first line of the table - around 18 % for back people and hispanic - I always wonder how people could publish results like that).
