Pardon me but I find it amusing
that I hear about Dean supporters attacking Kerry for being against gay marriage, being for NAFTA, and coming from a well to do background, the thing is Dean also opposes gay marriage and was a big proponent of NAFTA as governor, and he came from a well to do background too, and his family to my knowledge has been part of the moneyed establishment for way longer than the Kerry's, hell Fredrick and Ida Kerry got here the same time my great grandparents got here. I admit though that the Forbes have been wealthy for a while but Kerry himself growing up wasnt that wealthy compared to many, he was an ambassador's son not a wealthy businessman or politican's kid.

The sad thing is, I LIKE Dean. A lot. It's just that so many of his rabid supporters make me WANT to hate him. Kind of like Jesus, in a way.

6. LOL
Poor Jesus. Poor Howard. I am more fond of Jesus than Howard, but I do like him, and think he gets a bad rep because of his idiot cultist supporters. Because, see, I don't hate moderates. Unlike the Deaniacs, who are LIBERALISM UNDILUTED and yet support a fairly conservative Dem. Seriously, how do their brains not implode with cognitive dissonance?

8. Hee.
No disrespect intended to Christians (or Dean supporters) there. I just had to get that off my chest.

I think he'd make a fantastic DNC chair: he obviously has a HUGE gift for motivating and organizing people. And I want him in some position of power again to give these people SOMETHING BETTER TO DO than dissing other Dems on the "internets."

9. Well I think Most Kerrycrats Agree
Dean isn't the problem it is his cult of Deaniacs that is the problem. Those people along with a some other cults being developed around DU if you know what I mean, these people are the the problem not the candidates themselves.

15. Totally Agree
He's not my man and never would be, but if by some sure miracle and it would be a miracle he ever became the nominee I would support him. But I don't believe I will have to worry about that.

16. If I would criticize Dean, it would come from the left
I often defend that he was electable, dont know if he is now but I would defend that but I would often say can't we do better than a moderate like Dean but instead a liberal like Kerry, of course that didnt fly so well here.

17. It may not of flew here but it sure flew in the places it counted!
I wasn't here but from what I been told if you went by what people said at DU Kerry would have been dead in the water from the get go and Dean would have won in a major way. Which was a big joke. And when people are looking at a candidate and decide who to support him/her they don't say ok I'm going to support this one cause he is electable that is the dumbest and craziest shit I ever heard. And to be honest with you the first time I ever heard it was here at DU and I just LMAO when I did. Hell people support a candidate because they believe and fight for the same values you do, you feel that they have the credentials and wisdom to do the job, and that they will always do their best to do whats right for you and your country, ect. Not because they might be electable to me that is a joke.

12. just to be fair, they might not even be Dean supporters
right wing trolls often came on DU during the campaign claiming to support Dean so they can avoid being banned . but they would spend all the time attacking kerry. after a while the mods would figure it out and they got banned.

just yesterday there was one who came on claiming to support Dean but it was really a right wing troll and got banned.

most of the dean people are mostly concerned with getting Dean the DNC Chair position. i find that many Kerry supporters actually support him for it also.

13. I think Dean would be a good DNC chair
He definitely can motivate the base, as well as appeal to liberals and moderates. And yeah, I know lots of trolls come on here spouting the "Dean rules Kerry blows" shit... I just try to ignore the other threads, because those people make me so weary.

14. but but but Kerry supporters hate Dean
I am no fan of Dean I admit mostly because I hated the way he attaced other dems in the primaries well acting like he was the best thing to ever happen to the party, now I do think he would make a good DNC chair because hes a great attacker and fundraiser.

18. In retrospect, I don't like he did in the primaries at all
But unlike the dogmatics, I don't want to tar and feather him. (Like they want to do to Kerry, the bastards.)

19. He was pretty nasty about the attacks on other dems
And people did turn on him when he done that. But I feel he would be a good person to have involved with the DNC and he does pretty good at fundraisers. As far as a attacker I will say he is good but not great by no means. He still has some lessons to learn before I would ever call him great.
