You're going to like this guy. Check out what he says about the neocons and the Teddy Roosevelt quote. This guy worked tirelessly for Kerry in 2004 and made some serious headway in a rather red part of the state. If he wins the primary, his opponent, Greg Walden will have $500,000 on hand. He raised and $1,220,000 and spent $1,000,000 in 2004. John McColgan, the Dem candidate, had to run on a hot $30,000. We're obviously going to have to do alot better than that ourselves, (I had NO idea it was that bad). But if you can possibly send even a teensy bit his way, that would be great to get him going.
If you can, be sure to include your employer and employer address, or self-employed or retired. A plus, getting rid of Walden would mean we would likely have all 5 Dem Congressmen. That would also go a long long way in laying the groundwork for ousting Smith in 2008. Thanks!!

DAN DAVIS ENTERS THE SECOND CD RACE
Dan Davis understands that running for the US Congress in Oregon's District 2 against a well financed incumbent is a daunting challenge. He has the background and the passion to do the job, and he is up to the task.
Dan knows the value of hard work and commitment, growing up in a poor and blue collar family. He attended grade school in Mapleton, Oregon, then high school and college in Fulton, Missouri. He went to Vietnam as a 1st Lieutenant and was wounded in combat.
He worked 15 years for General Electric as manager of Turbine Services for the Middle East, Europe and Africa. Dan formed a company then, Turbine Technology Services Corporation, which he ran as President/CEO for 15 years. His company improved efficiency and reduced emissions in Turbine power plants. Dan has traveled extensively in 52 countries, but he made his home back in Oregon in 1998, first building pollution control systems, and then doing residential construction. He is currently in the process of starting an alternative fuels company to make bio-diesel for Southern Oregon.
Dan says, "We must once again become good Stewards of American Values and the American Dream! We have all watched, sometimes in horror, as corruption and incompetence have corroded our political system. We have witnessed the destruction of our treasures - moral, human and monetary - as they've been squandered for the betterment, not of the USA or even Iraq, but for large wealthy corporations and hidden political agendas. Greg Walden has rubber stamped all of the failed neo-con policies, and it is just not acceptable. We need to address people's needs, not corporate wants. For all those crucial issues we as Americans care about deeply; true homeland security, healthcare, education, ending this war, budget and trade deficits and debt, environmental stewardship, energy independence, and many more, we cannot afford any longer to 'stay the course.' We must begin working together to find just and lasting solutions."
Davis says, "As your representative, I will put our Nation, our State, our District, and our people ahead of donors, wealth and power. This is my pledge!"
Theodore Roosevelt:
“We are standing for the great fundamental rights upon which all successful free government must be based. We are standing for elementary decency in politics. We are fighting for honesty against naked robbery. It is not a partisan issue; it is more than a political issue; it is a great moral issue.”
