Webb watch: Kos and Mydd too lazy or don't want to do homework

On a front page article, Kos says he "wants to like" Webb without any qualifier. Then he links to this mydd.com page:

Included in that link is a link to a WP story.

But the comments on mydd.com are very discouraging. People are calling Webb a "dream candidate"!!! I'm going to comment on the Kos thread, but do any of you have a login to mydd.com? There was at least someone worried that Webb may become "Zell Miller's bastard child", but too much enthusiasm from this "liberal" site than I can take. Early assessments about Kos and Mydd are correct: they are NOT ideological at all but instead want to "win" even it means handing power over to Dems who really are Republicans!! Very discouraging, and this is the left wing blogosphere. Because of low turnouts in primaries, Miller will have to out organize Webb to win the nomination.

1. Who is working for Webb

Even though that is written by Matt Stoller, all this political consulting and think tank stuff is a bit too cozy for my taste.

I had thought that I read Jerome was working for Webb, but what turned up is that Jerome is working for Warner, which explains ALOT.

Even if Jerome isn't working directly for Webb, he may think he needs to rally round any Virginia candidate for the greater purpose of promoting Warner. And Matt Stoller may just be doing whatever he thinks he needs to for that end.

I don't trust any of it is for altruistic purposes anymore.

2. They dont care - kos and mydd have never been about issues

They are about hating GWB (who will yell the louder) and insider politicking (who they think has the best chance to win). A lot of people on DU are the same way, unfortunately.

They are totally inconsistent, supporting Warner while hating the DLC, for example.

The problem is to know who votes in a VA primary and what is the weight of Warner in VA. It will definitively be an important test for him.
