1. It is frustrating, where do these people come from that they never
pick up on the correct information? Can you imagine being a teacher trying to get information through to their thick skulls?

3. that's the first thing I tried
"Come off it, what a lame article!" was the reply.

Well, the reality of it is that you can't debate or discuss anything with these disrupters - the best you can do is try and put the truth out and hope some of the other people following the conversation pick up on it.

It's just beyond frustrating sometimes...

-----------

I was relating this story to my father in law last night about the above exchange I'd had on DU - and he disagreed with me - he was adamant that Kerry had supported the idea... that it had come from Kerry. Now, the FIL is not a stupid or uninformed person, his major fault these days, AFAIC, is that he listens to too much AAR (I almost regret turning him on to it)... the point being, I suppose - it really pointed up the ability of the MSM in forming public opinion with their disinformation and the weakness of the left, as exemplified by AAR in debunking said disinfo. In fact, the "left" is all too good at trumpeting this sort of crap themselves - another source of frustration when it comes to DU...

4. Another example that explanations don't necessarily help

I have a huge amount of documented information, but all the facts are ignored so they can stick with their preconceived beliefs.

:)

the group on your thread is the PI crowd.

it really sucks - we've got the whole internet - all this information literally at our fingertips -

and people instead choose to close their minds to it.

-----------

the internet too often has more of an echo chamber effect than the effect of expanding (and hopefully changing) people's opinions.

6. PI?
I'm sure it will come to me (or I'll think of an insulting meaning of my own) but what is the PI crowd?

7. the website that shall not be named
ok - it's called "progressive independent"

all of our favorite lefty trolls post there, and often come over to DU enmasse to jump on threads.

it's a concentrated little pustule of hate, rage, and ignorance - a perfect example of the echo chamber effect.

it's against the rules to link to it (or even mention it, I suppose) because they use the site to attack DU and it's members (often by name.)

8. I'm glad I haven't been to that one
I've seen plenty places where virtually all comments are along these lines, but not this particular one.

Me feeling when I see many of these posts is that these people are being harmful to the Democratic Party. I guess accusing them of this would be futile as many actually see this as their goal.

I probably made a mistake posting this late last night when I finished as it looks like only this type of people were reading. While unrealistic, I wish we could get the more typical DU member who has reservations about Kerry to consider this type of information. Ultimately it just plays into Bush's hands to have the Democrats fighting over this, and supporting the GOP talking point that Democrats like Kerry initially supported the war.

9. You mean there are some people so devoid of brain cells
and so desperately in need of 'getting a life' that they spend time and effort on another blog just so they can amass hate lists of DUer's? What a friggin waste of space.

Honestly, that place sounds like loserville to me. Good luck to them, I hope they like the taste of bile and bitterness. Sounds like the only meal they got coming to them.
