Inane Liberal Blog of the Week
From Andymatic; he quotes a line from AmericaBlog from January and then adds his own nonsense:

John Kerry: You Don’t Get Another Chance

AmericaBlog says what I think:

The man couldn’t even beat the totally lame George Bush, and now he’s hinting at running again? No. Good God, imagine if Kerry had to go up against John McCain next time? He’d be obliterated. I hate to be so brutal about it, but how do you spend 20 years in Washington and not have a concrete point of view on the war on terror and especially the war in Iraq?

-------

Here's the link--but unless you want to waste time arguing with him, don't go there--we don't want to give him extra hits: http://andymatic.com/2006/03/16/john-kerry-you-dont-get-another-chance/

I won't waste my time there arguing, but for some reason I feel compelled to briefly mention the most serious flaws in this:

1) George Bush as an incumbent in a war atmosphere, despite how lame he personally is, was FAR more difficult to beat than any non-incumbent, incuding John McCain

2) Concrete view on terror--is the guy unaware of the fact that John Kerry wrote a book on terror well before 9/11?

3) Concrete view on the war in Iraq--the guy obviously hasn't heard anything Kerry has had to say on either terror or Iraq. His Georgetown Speech alone (which is one of many comments) gave a quite concrete assessment of the situation and prediction of what would occur if Bush rushed to war.

There, totally futile but I feel better. Hopefully nobody else is reading this poor excuse for a liberal blog.

1. I don't think he liked him to begin with and
hasn't changed his opinion over time. Some people are like that. They didn't vote for you before in early '04 so it's not like you lost them.

3. that's what i'm always saying
these idiots who are ranting about Kerry not getting another chance or whatever never supported him before either. they act like THEY gave him a chance to run or something.

as if people like myself who worked for and supported him throughout the Primary doesn't matter.

4. What I'm seeing is not just
the emphasis on Kerry, but an entire campaign against the party right here on DU. They are waiting to pounce on anything. It's amplified because many in the "must bash anybody but my candidate" crowd joins in to whip up hysteria. I have issues with Reid, but not when he says Bush is the worst president ever. I'm thinking: no need to take issue, Bush IS the worst president ever.

5. another are things which are just completely misleading if not lying
such as the list of Senators who wanted to Censure Clinton. and using that to make them out to be horrible people if they aren't supporting it for Bush.

it's just totally misleading at best or lying in order to be disruptive.

did they not pay attention to the whole thing back then ? Republicans had the fucking majority and they were going to do something and moderates in the GOP and Dems wanted the Censure to put an end to the whole thing.

Feingold was the only Dem Senator who thought impeachment trial should continue. yet they never mention this.

i already had a low opinion of some of the leftist sites before, but now i know they don't care about the issues or the people but about their own agenda of destroying to Democratic Party.

8. Their not mentioning that Feingold was for continuing the impeachment
is then compounded as he is NOT on the censure list as it was seen as an alternative.

This is NOT Feingold, who alluded to his vote to continue in his censure speech. It is the mindless followers. It also ignores that part of the reason was that they wanted on the record that what Clinton did was wrong, just that it wasn't high crimes and misdemeanors.

6. I don't know him
I only stumbled on to this from a listing of today's blog posts on Kerry and never saw his blog in the past.

Without knowing him, I bet he was a Deanie who only knows the campaign's standard primary-era talking points on Kerry, reinforced by the same messages from the Bush campaign and corporate media.

I hate people who are that divorced from reality. Just...READ. REAL. NEWS. Think about it. Come up with opinions based on facts. Then you can call yourself a liberal.
