DP World Exec's Nomination Withdrawn
DP World Exec's Nomination Withdrawn By LESLIE MILLER, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - An executive with a Dubai-owned company withdrew his nomination as head of the agency that oversees ports in a letter to President Bush on Monday.

Bush in January nominated David Sanborn, DP World's director of operations for Europe and Latin America, to head the Maritime Administration.

Former presidential candidate John Kerry, D-Mass., and Sen. Bill Nelson (news, bio, voting record), D-Fla., put holds on Sanborn's nomination, saying they needed to know more about his role in the process that allowed DP World to purchase the port operations in the first place.

2. This should be big news,IMO. I have not seen it reported anywhere.
I suppose Feingold took the momentum away from the Port Security Issue.

Anyway, score one for Senator Kerry (that's are guy!) and Bill Nelson for actually doing something constructive and making our ports safer, and for holding Bush accountable for his actions.

I think you should post this on GD-P if you haven't already.

Thank you for finding this.

This is good news. and I like that phrase, 'putting a hold' on something. It's a cool way to say that this bastid can't get appointed cuz he's another incompetent moran.
