L'il Ricky steps in it again. With VIDEO!!
I just wanted to be sure everyone got an eye(and ear)ful of l'il Ricky's latest foot-in-mouth episode. What is it with republicana and idiocy?

Santorum: Europe is Dying

Rick Santorum spoke to the conservative Pennsylvania Leadership Conference last night. During his address he spoke about faith in the United States and compared it to the role of faith in western Europe. Here's what Rick claims is happening to western Europe because of secularism, "Those cultures are dying. People are dying. They're being overrun from overseas... and they have no response. They have nothing to fight for. They have nothing to live for."

On the other hand according to Rick, "More people go to church on Sunday in America than go to all of the sporting events in America held in a year combined." We're not sure where that statistic comes from or what it means, but Rick seems to find it reassuring. Here's the video:

My greatest sympathies to you poor suffering PA folk...

1. While I'm on a right-wing moron tangent,
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/03/29/AR2006032901339.html

Exhibit A:

As Shiite, Sunni Arab and Kurdish representatives haggle over power, Bush has grown irritated at the stalemate, aides said, and he expressed the impatience publicly in response to an audience question at Freedom House after his latest speech on the war.

"It's about time you get a unity government going," Bush said, addressing Iraqi leaders. "In other words, Americans understand newcomers to the political arena, but pretty soon it's time to shut her down and get governing."

Exhibit B:

"I weep about the suffering of the Palestinians," he said. "I particularly weep about the fact that the leadership has let them down for year after year after year."

Seriously, unhinged?

12. ???
What is he talking about?? I honestly don't know how the RW spinners deal with something like this. :wtf:

What I do know is that he is seeming to want to undemocratically interfere with the democratic process in a sovereign country where he's previously said that they should govern themselves the way their people want! But we expect that...

3. I actually remember that one -
though I'd never seen it on video.

He has to have been the kid who spent his entire education sprawled in a chair at the back of the classroom throwing spitballs and sneering at the smart kids' answers.

11. But copying them when called upon
and not having an answer just as he did in the debates. (It would be possible that he and Kerry had the same view of the greatest long term problem. Kerry's answer didn't surprise me. But when he wouldn't increase the budget, the words and the tone of Lugar's mention that both candidates in 2004 thought it was the most important thing clearly implied that Bush was not sincere on this.

9. This is truly humiliating.
How on earth did this ahole ever get elected in the great blue Commonwealth of Pennyslvania?

I'm just afraid these people have something up their sleeves. Casey has a decent lead in the polls, but I can't see Sanctorum going away gracefully. Either he's hatching some evil plan, or expecting bush* to give him a postion when Casey takes his seat in the Senate.

Sadly, I don't think Nov is the last we'll see of Ricky.

He is a dolt, isn't he?

14. Oh no, little Ricky Returns!
January 15, 2007: Defeated Senator Ricky Santorum was arrested today when he tried to enter the US Senate to give a speech thanking the people of PA for his successful re-election. Santorum had previously chained himself to his desk in his former office and cried that it was unfair and not God's Will that he lose. Capitol Hill police had been called in to use a lock breaker to unchain the former Senator from his chair and escort him from the premises. "But I'm a Senator," the erstwhile former legislator had been heard shouting to anyone who came close. "I'm God's Own Senator and this is against the Bible and, and, it really hurts my feelings. How am I going to afford Starbucks now?" Capitol Hill police have notified the Democratic Majority Leader that they are going to take out a restraining order and set up roadblocks to keep Little Ricky from bothering the Senate anymore. "He's a damn lunatic and we think he should be in a 'rest home' for a little while," said a Capitol police spokesman.

10. Of course it's dying...
...their birthrate is way down because they, oh, value something more than religious practices that encourage breeding like rabbits and no thinking.
