Dear Xxxxx,
I want to let you know I have taken on the task of co-chairing Massachusetts Victory ’06, the coordinated Democratic campaign. I am excited to be working with my co-chair, Katherine Clark of Melrose, and with activists across Massachusetts to ensure Democratic victories in November.
One of the best parts of being a candidate myself was the excitement about what you can get done in government with talented and energetic people who care about public service. I know how exciting it will be once again to have a Democratic Governor who is committed to Massachusetts and who awakens that sense of public service. Victory 2006 will be working together to re-elect Senator Ted Kennedy, elect a Democratic Governor, and elect Democrats across Massachusetts.
One of the lessons of the 2004 campaign is we Democrats have a job of organizing to do. We can’t match in few short months what the Republicans have built up over years. Victory 2006 has been working since last year to build up a neighbor-to-neighbor organization that will do the hard work of persuading and turning out votes.
My first urgent task is to put together the resources. On May 1 at the Park Plaza Hotel, we are holding the Roosevelt Awards Dinner FEATURING AL FRANKEN honoring Alan Solomont and District Attorney Martha Coakley. This dinner will be pivotal to Victory ’06 and to making sure that the winner of the Democratic primary for Governor is able compete right away with Republican multi-millionaires. A save the date is attached -- please put the date on your calendar and reach out to others to attend. I hope you will join in Victory ’06 by participating in this dinner honoring these extraordinary citizens.
Let’s get Massachusetts citizens excited about their government again!
