1. Immigration is the issue, of couse.
Speaking in support of Kennedy's bil. 9Oh, it's McCain's bill to, but I dislike giving him credit.)

He has been answering to many of the questions I had, including making clear that the employer will no more have the excuse that he/she does not know that his employee is illegal.

Talking about the Dream Act.

5. I missed the beggining, but from what I heard he really was good

The idea of moving to an ethic of "not cheating". How unRepublican! I loved the fact that he was emphasizing fairness and systematic reform. He even got to speak of his days as a prosecutor again.

By the way the newest New York magazine has a short article where they discussed Hillary's position on immigration. I had read it shortly before hearing Kerry - and thought his Shultz interview was far far better. He spoke in terms of principles and issues, unlike Hillary here.

7. Hope so--
But now it sounds like the Senate is going to go into late hours tonight--so maybe no replay. :(

I heard it in a fun context: driving in my car, listening to my XM radio and tuning it to Cspan's channel because Ed Schultz was going on and on and on about basketball. First I thought I was listening to the House, but then realized it was the voice of a certain Senator from New England. How fun was that!

He was clear and precise about it--I liked his four points. Would love to hear it again and see it.

8. now there's kind of a dust-up going on
Edited on Tue Apr-04-06 05:05 PM by ginnyinWI
trying to set the schedule for amendments and voting. Frist acting all wounded about being blocked. Saying it's the "other side" when the vote not to table the amendment was 100 to 0. Crazy.

Oh Geez, now Domenici is all hurt and angry, too! Never in all his 34 years.... :eyes:
