Cam Kerry to co-chair Mass Victory Campaign
Democrats tap John Kerry's brother to help win governor's office
April 17, 2006

BOSTON --The state Democratic party is tapping U.S. Sen. John Kerry's brother, Cameron Kerry, to co-chair a committee designed to help them win the one race that has eluded them for more than a decade: the governor's office.

Cameron Kerry, an attorney with the politically connected law firm Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, will co-chair the Massachusetts Victory '06 Coordinated Campaign with attorney Katherine Clark, a former Democratic candidate for state Senate.

Tracey Lewis, deputy director for John Kerry's leadership committee, Keeping America's Promise, has been named the committee's campaign manager.

1. Ya know, I've been thinkin'...
...that if (when) JK runs in 2008, Cam is going to be more heavily involved than in 2004. JK knows he needs people he can trust completely running his campaign. And who could be more trustworthy than his own brother? This will just give Cam some more experience at it.

Just my theory, perhaps totally wrong. But it sounds good to me.

3. That was my thought when I read this too

There were stories that he and the Kerry friends often were right when they disagreed with Cahill or Shrum. Also, they are 100% for Kerry, not wishing he were someone else.

The various so-called big names (Carville etc) won't be with Kerry anyway. It may be possible that Kerry's friends (and perhaps Cahill) may in fact be the current experts in running. If Cam has the same ability to learn that his big brother does, he might be the best person to have.

He'll have more experience to add to JK's team, as Rox mentioned.

4. Kudos to Cam and to Tracey.
I met Tracey twice this year and she is a real sweetheart. (Ahm, I mean a take-no-prisoners, give -em hell warrioress, oh heck, I loved that cutie pie. She was a real doll. Best of luck to her.)

Hehehehehe. TayTay does the dance of 'Mass' joy. Yeah, I thought so. Now we know that nice donation to be made after the primary in Sept will be handled correctly. And we will always know who made it, and who stood up for Massachusetts Democrats in their 'hour of need.' Hehehehehehe!

Good luck to Cam and Tracey.
