Fund raising letter from Senator Byrd with kind words for Senator Kerry!

I know I am a sucker sometimes, but this is so nice I have to do a little something. I wonder why he didn't have Senator Kerry or Senator Kerry didn't raise funds for Senator Byrd. Oh wait, I know, it's WV.

1. Kerry did include Byrd on one of the KAP solicitations

That really is nice that he started the letter with that and called Kerry good and decent and re-inforced the fact that Kerry served with distinction. Kerry once praised Byrd for his knowledge of the constitution when Kerry was starting a speech on fighting some of the Bush justices (such as Janice Rodgers Brown and Priscilla Owens)

2. I don't know how, but I must of missed that one.

or maybe it was sent at a time when I was having difficulties in receiving Kerry's e-mails.

3. I used to be on Sen. Byrd's e-mail list but I was rather upset by his

defense of Alito so I removed myself from the list. I'm like a mother grizzly when it comes to Senator Kerry. Anyone who didn't support the filibuster while JK's butt was hanging out there (on our behalf) made me very angry.

I guess I'll just have to suck it up and let bygones be bygones. Sen. Byrd is a great American and he's a Democrat. What was he thinking in supporting Alito? Ah, Hell. I've always loved Senator Byrd. He was wrong on Alito, but everybody makes mistakes.

I'm really glad to see him say good things about Senator Kerry though, because Senator Kerry did mention Senator Byrd in a previous fundraising e-mail.

4. I was angry about that also. Some stupid reason about not voting

party line. I think he was concerned about his reelection in a conservative state and then, perhaps his wife was ill and he was not thinking clearly.
