Kerry on 2008
Kerry 'thinking hard' about 2008 run for president
26 minutes ago

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Former Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry said on Thursday he was seriously thinking about another White House bid in

"I will make that decision toward the end of the year, but I'm thinking about it hard," Kerry said in response to a question at the Latin Economic Forum at the United Nations.

"If you can get help me find 60,000 votes in Ohio ...," he joked, referring to the close race in that state on which his 2004 loss to President Bush hinged.

Kerry, a U.S. senator from Massachusetts, has criticized Bush on a range of issues, particularly the war in Iraq.

On Thursday, he focused on Latin America, saying Bush lost interest in the region after the September 11 attacks.

"Relations between the United States and Latin America today are at their lowest point since the end of the Cold War," Kerry said.

1. Pretty nice story
The Latin America comment was great, likely made because of the nature of the conference. No one is even talking about Latin America. A surprisingly fair Kerry story - I don't even see any snark at all.

I rated it up - but it's only at 2.8 with 11 votes

7. We need a complex, compassionate person in the people's White House.
John Kerry would fill the bill nicely.

8. Nice to see you back here Old Crusoe
It is always a pleasure sir. I arrived late tonight at the forum, but I did manage a post in the discussion on the other board. Thanks! (Big doings for Sat's speech. Big doings indeed.)

My greatly, deeply and muchly esteemed taller Senator would indeed be the very elixer the nation needs at the moment. Your lips to God's ear, sir. And it can't happen quickly enough for me.

'tis a pleasure.

:patriot:

10. TayTay, hello to you, and thank you for the gracious words.
I need a break from that Kerry-bashing experience visited upon us over in GD.

Scratch that -- I don't need a break. I need some HEROIN.

If anybody has some -- make that a LOT -- please send it along. Thanks in advance.

Yes. Saturday's speech, and the on-going notion that good people like Kerry-Edwards, ulike Bush-Cheney, still are willing to give their voices to the unheard. I'd prefer a more high-profile day than Saturday, when everybody's out gardening and golfing and so on, but I'll take it any time it comes.

Good steps and good wishes, and thank you.

9. Does anyone think that a part of Kerry
sounding more positive is intentional to call attention to the Iraq plan and Saturday's speech? The difference is subtle, but it's clearly there.

11. It may be
that he doesn't want speculation to detract from the message. I don't know. I'm just happy for the news and the excited about the speech.
