RNC Response to John Kerry on ABC's This Week
Contact: Tracey Schmitt of the Republican National Committee Communications Staff, 202-863-8614

WASHINGTON, April 23 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Following is the Republican National Committee response to John Kerry on ABC's "This Week":

"Senator Kerry may be pondering a new presidential run, but today he sounded familiar themes advocating a retreat and defeat strategy when it comes to fighting the War on Terror. By offering little in the way of real solutions and a lot in the way of negativity, John Kerry illustrated he's the same candidate whose failed vision was rejected in 2004 by the American people." - Brian Jones, RNC Communications Director

Sen. Kerry's Latest Retreat And Defeat Statements:

Sen. Kerry: "You can't resolve it militarily... our large presence of troops feeds the insurgency and delays the Iraqis standing up for themselves. So get tough, set a timetable and push them." (ABC's "This Week," 4/23/06)

Sen. Kerry: "The civil war will only get worse, and we will have no choice anyway but to leave." (Sen. John Kerry, Op-Ed, "Two Deadlines And An Exit," The New York Times, 4/05/06)

-- Sen. Kerry: "(W)e must set another deadline to extricate our troops and get Iraq up on its own two feet." (Sen. John Kerry, Op-Ed, "Two Deadlines And An Exit," The New York Times, 4/05/06)

1. Your thank you is right, it just highlights that Kerry is
against Bush's path which is working very very badly.

2. Well, if Kerry's ideas are "retreat and defeat" then *'s is:
stay and lose anyway!!!! And with a lot more body bags.

I forgot to tell you guys that Fox News had a segment on JK. It had a Republican strategist against Bob Beckel, Democratic strategist (who was the centrist Dem vs. Mary Scott O'Connor a couple of weeks ago. She was for impeaching *, he was against). The Rethug (yeah, that's what he was) made me laugh!! He begged the Dems to nominate JK again so they would win again (up yours, idiot)and then he said that Kerry was a stomach ache that wouldn't go away. Then Beckel said "oh, I thought you were talking about Rumsfeld". The Dem guy did give Kerry credit for speaking out and wished other Dems would do the same. I missed the beginning but presumably they also did the news block of Kerry's speech, but OTOH it shows you how damn pathetic all news and LW blogs are, when it's freaking Fox News that understood that his speech was news, even if it was another excuse to make fun of him.
