Hello my favorite DUers!
I know there is a lot going on now with President Kerry's wonderful speech, which was breathtaking by the way!!:loveya: but I wanted to let those of you who were interested in seeing pics from my daughters wedding have the web address ( as I still haven't figured out how to get the ones we took from my computer to HERE!!! duh! I implanted it in one of the posts over the weekend, but don't know if any of you got to see them except two of you who responded, and by the way, Thank you for your nice comments. You know who you are. The website is www.ellieleonard.com Just click on the bouquet of tulips, and that will bring you to the photos. There are only a few, but I think the photographer did a great job. I am the short stumpy one in the Periwinkle blue suit!! God, I have to take off some pounds girls. I need to be alluring in case I ever get to meet our Dream Man in person! :loveya: :grouphug: DC

The pictures are great, your daughter looks gorgeous, and that new son-in -law has that twinkle in his eye. :loveya:

I love the tulips, great choice. I'm glad everything turned out so well.

16. Yeah!, ain't he cute!
He's Irish through and through. Definitely a twinkle in his eyes, and a bit of the blarney too! They are both "Aries" babies, and have the same sense of humor. He's a veteran of the Air Force, and now has his own contracting business. My girl is a paralegal.

2. Gosh, she's beautiful!!
What a lovely wedding. You take beautiful pictures too, love the nature ones. And the New Orleans ones, the young man with the wreckage behind him, expresses the magnitude of it better than any picture I think I've seen.

4. Sorry love, I can't take credit for these pics.
They were done by a professional photographer. The pics we took are digital, and the only way I can get them to you all to see, is if I had everyones email address!!! Damn Yahoo photo albums!! My son took the digital pics,as I was too busy crying, and just being with my kids and friends and family!! My daughter was the light of my husbands life. Because he wasn't there to walk her down the aisle, I gave her a locket with his picture in it. She wrapped it around her bouquet so he could be with her on her special day. He would have approved of her choice as well. Her husband is an absolute doll! DC

5. Ah,
Do you have a photobucket account? Very simple. Once you have your pictures on your computer, you upload them to photobucket. There's a search feature, so it's just point and click. Then you can post some here. If you want.

My daughter chose a good'n too. Isn't it just the greatest thing?? I always tell people we couldn't have found a better guy if we'd done interviews and reference checks. I hope she'll be very happy. I'm sorry your husband passed away, must have been sort of bitter-sweet for you, although much more sweet.

17. Yes I opened an account with them.
It's just a matter of taking the time to read the tutorial, and do it! Step by step, and I just can't muster up the patience for it!! I still haven't come down to earth yet, if you get my drift. Thanks for the suggestion, now how would you like to come to my house and do it for me?? I know, I'm lazy. Can't help it, I get like that sometimes. DC:hug:

27. After you upload the picture
You should get three lines under the picture, URL, TAG, Image. Just copy the code in the URL box and paste it into a post. Your picture should show up. You can't see that until you have a picture uploaded.

22. Thanks, this guy was worth waiting for.
At her age of 36, I was about ready to resign myself to her being single. She was with one guy for 6 yrs. and they even bought a house together, but it just wasn't "right" between them and they both finally realized that they loved each other, but weren't IN LOVE. She was all set to move in with Mommy when she met her soul mate, and it was love at first sight! The rest is history now. I understand about the interviews and reference checks thing. Isn't it strange that when it's right, it's right!?? Gives one hope!! Now I hope for a better America for my new grand baby to be!! We gotta get busy and make it happen!! For all of our children and generations to come. Love, DC

7. Oh DC, These are lovely
I don't know who looked more radiant, the happy bride or the very happy Mother of the bride. Congratulations to you and to your family. What a joyous time it must have been.

I'm so sorry I didn't have a chance to respond to you last week. I became a bit busy and time got past me. My apologies.

Wow! The tulips were a lovely touch. Best wishes to the happy couple.

Yeah, the tulips were her idea, in keeping with the spring theme. As were the birds nests with the jordan almonds. She planned the whole thing and did most of the work. I made her gown and the "hat box" for the wedding cards, (with leftover material from her gown) What you can't see is her centerpieces because of the black and white photo. They were silver containers with deep mauve silk hydrangeas. Very striking with the Churches pink and white dinnerware....ME, HAPPY??? Where did you get that idea?? I cried like a baby through the ceremony, but I was ecstatic!!! It was a very small and intimate affair. Very informal. No attendants just THEM. My best friend in the world from Pittsfield is the Congregational Minister who married them, and when she marries someone, they STAY MARRIED!! That's a private joke between us. Our kids grew up together, and she's performed all of their weddings as well. All in all, it was a great day! The reception was in the Church hall downstairs, and we had a caterer do a brunch buffet. Omelets made to order, etc. and her Wedding cake was one of the newer things now. They had a white wrought iron obelisk about 5 ft. high, with the bride and grooms cake on the top tier, and lower tiers had mirrors with individual cheesecakes, all with different fruit toppings. It was the most delicious cheesecake I've ever had in my life! I'd better stop before I write a book! Now to settle in to some "grandma crocheting" for the expected grandson Aidan Leigh !!O8) (due in Aug.)

15. Why thank you ma'am!!
If you knew what I went through to find a suit that fit me!! Ordered one and had to return it because it was too small. I haven't bought any dressy clothes since my husband passed, and at that time I was wearing a size 10/12 !! I've got a whole closet full of suits from when I was doing Real Estate, that I can't get into anymore. That suit I had on was a sz.20!!!! Last year I was in an 18. At the rate I'm going, by the time I'm 70 there won't be anything big enough to fit me except maybe a tent from Omar the tent maker!!! So I figure I've got 3 yrs. to get back to my normal size, if that's possible LOL. I am on a steroid inhaler that puts the pounds on!! Catch 22 ya know? Can't exercise much because of my COPD, and the weight. Can't take the weight off unless I diet and exercise. My Dr. says I'm not eating often enough, so my body thinks I'm starving it, and holds onto the fat!! Go figure. I need a miracle drug or maybe a handsome man for incentive?? Love DC

11. My pleasure!
I am very proud of my baby girl! This child was in the Army, and is a "sharpshooter!" She also was the director of a USO group who have traveled to Bahrain, Kuwait, Korea and Japan as well as the Azores to entertain our troops at Christmas time. They were known as the "Liberty Misses" She was in Kuwait at the same time as Sec.of Defense Cohen and his lovely wife Janet Langhart Cohen. Also on that tour was Larry Gatlin,of the Gatlin Bros. The Liberty Misses were all former contestants in the Miss Ct. pageant (Miss America). Each held crowns from their respective areas. She has a soft spot in her heart for our military. Now she's settled down and waiting to be a "mommy"!

Your daughter is gorgeous and the groom is so cute!! You look fabulous! Maybe when my Mom comes I'll show her the picture to see if she knows you (you never know with the Pittsfield/CT connection!).

Yes, the wedding was right here in my little town of Thomaston. The couple are residing up in Northfield, about 10 min. away. It will be a miracle if your Mom recognized me! I've put on so much weight since I lived there, and aged somewhat!! Wouldn't that be a hoot tho' if we knew each other??
