I am so pissed off right now
Another board that I visit is a mix of dems, libertarians, and right wingers (two of them preachers). This is a small group and there is less than 20 of us that post there.

Today, I log on to see this post - (by one of the Preachers no less) -

Post subject: Gigolo John's Depressed First Wife is Dead

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Julia Thorne, author and ex-wife of Sen. Kerry, dead at 61
April 28, 2006

---

then he links and quotes the obit --

BOSTON --Julia Thorne, an author and the former wife of U.S. Sen. John Kerry, has died of cancer at a friend's home in Concord. She was 61.

John Kerry called Thorne "a great friend to a lot of people." (He loved her before he did not love her.)

<snip>

Thorne met Kerry in 1963 at her family's estate on Long Island, when Kerry, a Yale classmate of Thorne's twin brother, came for a visit. Kerry was clearly smitten, Thorne recalled in an interview with the Globe.

"He just kind of stood there and looked," she said. They married in 1970.

Then he makes this comment -

Looked WHAT? At what? Looked like Lurch? Looked at your bank account? WHAT? I guess now we'll never know. (I wasn't married to him--but he made me depressed, as well.)
------------

:wtf: This is supposed to be a Preacher talking here!

black hearts --- they all have black hearts!

1. That's horrible!
That's as much respect as he can muster for the dead?

I'm praying for his flock.

2. I have asked him several times
If his flock would still follow him if they knew just how un-christ-like he really was. He has never answered that question.

I think he really fears that they wouldn't.

5. That looks like a man who is
eaten up with envy. But that is no excuse for being so hateful.

7. That's just sad
We've really lost any sense of civility, somewhere along the line. Pot shots as part of a campaign or political argument, I understand. But this is just completely uncalled for. I don't even like it when people call Laura Bush a murderer. I have absolutely no use for the woman, but I don't believe she intentionally killed anybody and it's just the lowest thing in the world to exploit a tragedy like that. I would bet if she died, we'd see the same sort of garbage right here on DU. I just don't know what in the world is wrong with this country.

8. You're probably right sadly
That people would act that way to Laura if she died. I don't think too highly of her either but the way some people are on both sides of the spectrum upsets me largely.

Most don't confront him as much as we have there ... at least about Kerry. I think most of the other posters just can't believe he went that far either.

10. That is just sick! What kind of person would be so cold
at a time of loss?

Only someone without a heart.

11. It's hard to even acknowledge someone so eaten up with hate...
...but I think you're right, Sydnie -- even people on that board who don't confront him are doubtless as shocked and sickened privately as we are publicly. He has shown himself for who he really is (and it is not JK he hates, though he thinks so) and they will remember that.

It is good that you call him on it, even if he isn't able to stop his ugliness.

12. Do you know enough to find out what "church" he is a "preacher" of?
Seriously, this is beyond the pale - especially for someone who claims to be "Christian."

Does anyone else think it would be appropriate to "out" this guy to his church, if possible?

Or am I wrong to think of it?

13. I have considered it
Here is the page for his church. http://www.cbcwv.us/

If you google the name - Keli Kilohana and you will find his freeper posts.

He is one sick individual ... and being that he is a pastor, he disgusts me completely.

The quote needs no explanation as to what a 19 year old man was looking at. (Also having seen their duaughters at the Faneuil Hall, the reaction is very easy to understand - Alex, who is suppose to look like her mom, has an almost unreal beauty and Julia was wearing a bikini.) It also is very clear that she asked John for a divorce and he convinced her to agree to a seperation, because he wanted the marriage to be fixed. (It's kind of sexist to assume all marriage end because the man stops loving the woman.)

I doubt very much that her older brother and her twin would have remained so close to Kerry if this ministers view had an ounce of truth in it. Nor, would she have spoken so kindly of Kerry herself.
