‘Why were there stickers on ballots in Clermont County, Ohio?’

Serious new election tampering allegations have emerged from an Ohio county, where witnesses allege that stickers were placed on presidential election ballots, RAW STORY has learned.

Several volunteer workers in the Ohio recount in Clermont County, Ohio have prepared affidavits alleging serious tampering, violations of state and federal law and possible fraud. They name the Republican chief of Clermont’s Board of Elections Daniel Bare and the head of the Clermont Democratic Party Priscilla O’Donnell as complicit in these acts.

These volunteers, observing the recount on behalf of the Greens, Libertarians and Democrats, assert that during the Dec. 14, 2004 hand recount they noticed stickers covering the Kerry/Edwards oval, whereas the Bush/Cheney oval seemed to be “colored in.”

This should explain some of the suprise Kerry was "awakened to" when he realized his ohio people were not "his."

She is worried about the safety of the people who came forward, and wants as much light as possible on the story to help protect them. The email for Raw Story is [e-mail].

I just read the whole article on the homepage. It's absolutely appalling--the partisan officials stole votes away from Kerry/Edwards in Ohio in the most glaringly blatant way. Stickers on ballots covering up Kerry/Edwards votes and filling in the Bush/Cheney circle, then feeding them back into the optical scan machines!! It is sickening what this country has come to, when this goes on. They stole the vote in this and other ways. Sickening. Everyone should read the whole article.

Bush acts like he won this election legitimately--and we don't know if he's been informed about all of this or not. But he should suspect it if he knows anything about his party at all. I wonder how many of them know or believe this--although I am past hoping that they care about the rule of law in this country or anywhere else.

I wonder if this is what Larissa meant when she said in her email to me that the scuttlebutt around town was that Kerry was "set up."

Is that what she means? Plants within Kerry's Ohio organization? Is that why he changed lawyers from that probate lawyer with Repub ties to the lawyer with recount experience?

It would make some sense. How could they vet all those volunteer lawyers. Would see an impossible task to make sure each and every one was truly on Kerry's side.

I'm not sure what exactly she meant by that, but you raise some very interesting questions. I'm not even that involved in all the election fraud details, but we struck up a correspondence after her Kos post, and she can't post on this forum because she can't afford to donate.

Is there any workaround around that rule? She took SO much scary crap after her Kos post for sticking up for Kerry that she trusts us more than a lot of others. At least we listen and don't slam.

The other question I have now is: if the reports that we got about "Kerry lawyers" getting in the way and in some cases actually destroying evidence was true in Ohio, maybe those "Kerry lawyers" weren't actually "his" if you know what I mean, as in part of the set up.

Can you imagine. Maybe that's why he smiles. He knows he actually won, even if he can't prove it. That's got to be both a really good, and a really bad feeling.

Not about the lawyers, but that he knows. Even though he can't prove it. I recall Will Pitt's interview with his brother, and even Cam said that he thought they'd lost tens of thousands of votes due to mistakes and fraud and suppression, IIRC.

This whole thing just pisses me off unbelievably, for multiple reasons, on many levels, and the fact that it's Kerry IS one of them. (I can say this in here, at LAST, after the Election forum being so hostile to it...) It's not just about the crime itself, the fraudulent activity, or election reform in general--although that's certainly a big part of it and we have to get something done to fix the system. I am doing what my professional knowledge best empowers me to do.

But I have this personal thing now and it just infuriates me to see something like this done to this particular individual. He is one of the most honorable politicians we have and he of all people deserved an honest election. :mad:

That this has been done to such a decent man who has conducted himself with integrity, even in the midst of such a dirty business as national politics. He treats people sometimes better than they deserve, because that is who he is. That's the thought that has made me the most angry and heartbroken. The injustice of it. I only hope someday he does get his chance. He's an honest man and we need a president of his caliber.

There simply had to have been enough fraud to flip the election--we are seeing the tip of the iceberg. They left no stone unturned, looking for ways to steal votes.

And the exit polls said 325! All signs pointed so clearly to him winning. Sigh. The only thing that would possibly make sense for Bush to have won is that he scared enough people into being afraid to risk a change. I'm sure he did that, but was it enough to win the election? Or did he need a little help from fraud? When Republicans count the votes, it isn't hard to get.

I am a big girl. A grown-up in fact. I can explain my actions to a fair-thee-well. I am, more than I would like to admit, occasionally wrong and I also am occasionally murky in my posting. Asking for a simple clarification seems like a completely benign request to me.

My murky post was an unclear way of asking what the minimum donation to get a star at DU was. When I got a star, I just donated $25. (This was back in Dec, I think.) I wanted to get a star for Larisa. You beat me to the punch. Then the postings got thick and heavy and I think I lost the train of consistent thought. My bad.

Anyway, back to Larisa. She is doing incredible work and I am going to find every media contact I can and see if I can find a way, through my workplace, to advance her reporting to a wider audience. Not promising anything, but nothing ventured....

Again, asking for clarification is fine. I rather like it. Makes me both a better and more focused poster and more humble. (Humble is fine. I like humble.) Cheers!

To answer the "setup" question. In the article, according to the sources and their statements, the "dems" were not "dems" and the lawyers would not help them... the supposed dem lawyers.

Okay... now, there is the same story in 3 other Ohio counties about Dems as "not dems."

My theory, is that he was told on Nov. 2 that "suprise" those are our guys. That is only my own theory.

As for the other counties, others are investigating it. I have passed all tips on because I could not cover all of them, only the most compelling one.

Also... there is the footage a source provided, which we sent to experts...I don't know if it is footage of the stickers, the machines, or the ballots... have to wait, as it was taken quickly and it was taken by one of the sources using a cell phone camera.

Now, there is also the other evidence that "others" have, not I, but that I am to some extent aware of. I cannot discuss it as it is not fully vetted nor am I the one investigating it. I know little bits. In any case, the little I know would support my original theory, which is still, only a theory.

One more thing... there is a serious "plant" here, inside DU watching for "possible" leads to "discredit" with "disnfo working groups." I kid you not. I actually thought everyone was nuts... then went back and read all about Watergate and these are just the new and improved versions of the "rangers" and "rovers."

Given that, I suggest that any sensitive conversations be had through cryptoheaven.com. You can grant access to people you feel comfortable with and chat, post, email in a very highly crypt. environment. This is the place journalists use to meet up with sources...and there are some people on there who, obviously, are not going to use their real names... but very funny, if you knew who they were.

General rule of thumb in there... with that encryption, hackers/trolls/repugs would need about 2 weeks to hack your posts... so every two weeks you delete everything or move it to another folder. You can share information in a folder to grant access to one another for review.

He was one of the last speakers at the Dec. Conyers hearings in DC. He came to the mike, announced his name and then stopped as though he were expecting applause. He seemed a bit unstable. (Although I have worked for nice geeky people who just didn't have much in the way of people skills. He also had a bit of that.) Barney Frank seemed able to handle him quite well. (Then again, no one in their right mid would take Barney Frank on in a contest of wits.)
