It's the first time I receive such a shit by email
Of course, the address of the sender is phony.

Who can translate the sentence for me ?

----------

"While you can make your peace with GOD,
rember tomorrow is promised to no one,
and make sure the ones you love do also.

Accept him.

Repent.

Get baptized.

And have a nice eternity.

In boyce we can solidus as always quart fanatic theirfore
illusive is concierge and hardin."

It's a well-known method used by spammers to try making their messages go through anti-spam filters: a set of words taked randomly in a dictionary.

Je l'ai reçu aussi (Subject: You need to only believe)

K9 is an email filtering application that works in conjunction with your regular POP3 email program and automatically classifies incoming emails as spam (junk email) or non-spam without the need for maintaining dozens of rules or constant updates to be downloaded. It uses intelligent statistical analysis that can result in extremely high accuracy over time.

K9 learns from its mistakes and becomes better and better at being able to identify spam. More importantly it learns to recognize what you consider to be spam.

Edited on Sun Dec-12-04 05:36 AM by BonjourUSA

It has been put into my SPAM box.

I just wanted to emphasize it was the first one with a religious content

5. Evangelical spam.
"While you can make your peace with GOD,
rember tomorrow is promised to no one,
and make sure the ones you love do also.

Accept him.

Repent.

Get baptized.

And have a nice eternity.

The above is the payload.

In boyce we can solidus as always quart fanatic theirfore
illusive is concierge and hardin."

This last part is gibberish to confuse spam filters.

It is going to be amusing to have this merde mixed in
with the spam about pornography and penis enlarging creams.

God and Viagra are master keywords to filter out spam :-)

There is also PopFile, which is excellent for that job ("bayesian" filter, same principle as K9 apparently).
It already classified more that 600000 of my e-mails since last year, and its error ratio is now 0.07 % (one classification error for 1428 received e-mails). Popfile is available here

Comment fais tu pour recevoir 600 000 courriers / an ?

PopFile and K9 work the same way

I don't remember why I choose the latter

K9 processed 2529 emails for me since July 2004 and successfully sorted 99.41 % of them.

How can you get 600 000 mails in a year ?

Note : 80% sont du spam.

I agree. Popfile can sort in any number of categories (buckets) you want, not only "spam" and "non-spam". It enables for instance to separate the professional messages from the personal ones, etc.
To receive 600000 e-mails a year, it's simple, you just need to receive 1700 a day :)
Note: 80% of these messages are spam.
At these rates, a good filter becomes necessary.
