Anybody familiar with the forums at Catholic Online (catholic.org)?

[Beware the Beast Man]

For a moment, I thought I stepped into Free Republic. No sense in cherry-picking some of the worst I saw there, so I'll let you see for yourself:

Very RW/Repub/anti-Dem biased, posters who link to rushlimbaugh.com to corroborate "facts" on things like the economy,and it seems as if THE ONLY issue is abortion.

With that in mind, anybody have a good link to a more progressive Catholic forum? It's beneath my contempt to even attempt a debate with those people.

It's not their fault... They've just been spoon fed this bullshit for their entire lives. And they don't know any better.

And I think I worded what I meant wrong. I meant more than anything that when you're raised with a belief, that, right or wrong, you believe it unwaveringly, if that is a word. Sorry for the comment. I reread it now, and realized what it looked like.

3. Maybe you should try to get them to explain how

GOP "Christians" can so blatantly ignore the teachings of Christ about the poor. I'm not sure Limbaugh claims to be Christian but the posters in question are claiming to be Catholic Christians so they should be familiar with the teachings of Jesus. Abortion is simply not the only issue, though I agree it is important for Catholics to work to decrease the use of abortion, and I would argue that it is one of the great moral issues of our time. Our treatment of the poor, both in our country and abroad, is another great moral issue. Remind them that Jesus said when we feed the hungry, we feed Him.

Women often seek abortions for economic reasons and in the Bush** economy, abortion numbers have risen. There were fewer abortions during the Clinton years because the economy was better. They can deny that the economy isn't as good now as it was under Clinton (and I'm sure they will) but how do they explain the increase in abortions?
