Totally ridiculous question: do your cats observe Lent?
This is meant to be silly, but my wife and I entertained the idea of feeding our cats only seafood products on fridays during lent. :D Just wondering if anyone does the same. Carry on!

1. LOL, it depends on whether your cats are practicing Catholics,

I suppose. My dog would object to seafood-only on Fridays, I think. (Do they even make seafood for dogs?)

4. I didn't know dogs had a particular taste for seafood
But then it's been decades since I've lived with a dog, and he was a strict Ken-L Ration man.

2. I seriously don't think my cats would go along with it
They don't like food that is too fishy.

Plus, I'm pretty sure they consider themselves to be the only deities around...

7. lol, that was exactly what I was going to write.
Every one of my cats believes he or she is the alpha and omega. You can see it in their eyes.

3. I have a hard enough time getting my kids to eat fish sticks.
I can't imagine getting the dog to go along. :hi:

5. Not this one, but the one who died last year
used to undertake a "Lenten Hermitage" under the camillia bush in the back yard every year.

Oh, I know. He carried it on all summer so as not to appear too spiritual, but secretly we all knew.

6. My cat is a kitten
He's too young to observe Lent; he needs his food so he can grow :D

BTA, he wouldn't mind seafood on Fridays--it's no sacrifice for him :)

8. True- my kitties are poulty/seafood cats anyway.
Salmon or ocean whitefish on Fridays wouldn't be much of a stretch :)

9. My two kitty girls
would LOVE having seafood on Fridays ;) Unfortunately for them, they must remain on their Science Diet R/D formula - they both have a little "weight control" issue we are working on :hi:

16. Hi etherealtruth!
:hi: I guess tuna "juice" wouldn't be that bad. I opened a can of soup last night and I thought S'more was gonna knock me down to get at the can! I think it's the "can opener" sound that gets em :9

They both send you kitty kisses!! :loveya:

10. Our pets would love it!
Both dogs and both cats are seafood fans, and the ferret will take a finger off if you don't turn loose of the shrimp fast enough.

:P

11. A vegan girlfriend of mine...
...damn near killed her cat trying to get it off meat, so please don't go that route!

We eventually broke up because I'd come staggering home with chili cheeseburger on my breath. :-)

13. No way. My cats are carnivores.
And fish on Friday for them is standard procedure.

12. The smiley-to-post ratio is quite high
in pet threads. ;-) I counted 9 smileys in 11 posts, not counting this post or these smileys. :-) B-) :7

Bless the animals for all the joy they give us! O8)

They had a wild party at 4 a.m.

I wasn't invited.
