It looks like Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger will be leading the conclave so they will probably choose someone else. Keep in mind that a number of Popes including John Paul II were not papabile. And a number of cardinals who were presumed to be shoo-ins didn't make it. "He who enters conclave as a pope, leaves as a cardinal."

Conclave starts on April 18.

For that matter, the very fact that there is a "Cardinal Ratzinger Fan Club" is dismaying enough...

3. What's bad about Ratzinger is that he could last a while.

He is in pretty good health for a man of 77(soon to be 78) and could hang on for 10-15 years.
