I like "Life on the Rock" with Fr. Francis Mary. I also like to pray the rosary along with Mother Angelica and the nuns. The Holyland rosary is also neat.

1. As a catechist for RCIA
I like:

Then I usually troll by looking for programs that I can use to help my teaching. There is one on the catechism that I have seen, and a Q&A e-mail show that I thought was good too, but I don't remember their names.

6. Are they still showing the Chesterton show? I haven't found it yet. . .

TiVo searches for EWTN shows can be frustrating. I just found that the web site has a printable program schedule, though.

Click on the dates above to get next week's schedule, and then the week after that.

I've seen the Journey Home show once or twice and it was very good. I read Marcus Grodi's conversion story online -- very interesting!

Our parish has started a Chesterton group but I haven't gotten involved yet. Maybe eventually. I used to be on the RCIA team when my health was good.

2. My faves include re-runs of old "Mother Angelica Live" shows
and even older re-runs of "Life Is Worth Living" with Bishop Fulton J. Sheen, well-remembered from my childhood in the fifties.

Since I'm a convert, I know my family didn't watch Bishop Sheen, but I remember seeing him from the very year we got a TV set. He and "Howdy Doody" and "Sergeant Preston of the Yukon" are my memories of TV watched as a second grader. Maybe I watched it with my good friends Corry and Christy Brautigan, who were Catholic. I don't remember ever eating dinner with their family but that must be it; that the whole family watched it after dinner.

Bishop Sheen was an amazing preacher and catechist, with great television presence, like an American John Paul II. Wonder if John Paul was familiar with Sheen's TV work? Given that Karol Wojtyla was an actor, director, and playwright, it's probably a safe best he was! ;-)

Scarlet owl, like you, I like praying the Rosary along with Mother Angelica and the sisters or with Fr. Pacwa in the Holy Land. Fr. Pacwa's show has shown me a lot of scenery/ photos of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Upper Room, many other sites, and I mean photos of things I'd never seen before in stills or on TV.

I've not yet seen "Life on the Rock" with Fr. Francis Mary. Isn't he the young priest with the reddish Orthodox-style beard? I've really enjoyed his homilies when he was the celebrant in Masses I've watched.

3. Um...Benedict Groeschel?
I must confess to having seen very little of ETWN, especially since our local cable station just runs a composite of various spiritually-themed stations. So there's just some ETWN programming, but not all of it, from what I can tell.

I did catch Benedict Groeschel a few weeks back and found him pleasantly down to earth. You can imagine him chatting with people at the corner deli.
