Who has a special devotion?
Me I have a powerful personal devotion to St Therese of Lisieux - I'm getting married on her feast day.

What's yours?

1. I have a special devotion to St. Rita of Cascia.
I have some of the leaves from a grapevine she planted and I'm taking her name at confirmation. She's the patron saint of infertility (and impossible causes), so I pray to her often.

2. very nice. I've seen you post this before - good for you.
When I look back over my life its almost scary how many times I've come into contact with St Therese and didn't know it - I spent my weekends at my grandmothers in Mt Carmel CT and didn't know what that meant till my conversion at 27!

4. Saint Anthony of Padua.
My devotion is limited but goes beyond the prayers for lost articles. I have fond memories of my mother offering prayers of thanksgiving when something was found.

Saint Anthony appeals to me for a variety of reasons, including the fact that he apparently wanted to be a martyr but found that God had very different plans for him. There are a lot of us out here who started out to be one thing and wound up another.

5. Here comes the patron saint index!
They're a busy lot, not to mention specialized. Who knew that Saint John of God covered me both as a bookseller and as heart patient?

I have his chaplet too, but I haven't prayed it yet.

I have said the St. Therese chaplet, it's beautiful. Have you prayed it?

BTW: Who is that handsome man in signature line?

11. St. Michael, the Archangel.
Glorious Saint Michael, Prince of the heavenly hosts, who stands always ready to give assistance to the people of God; who fought with the dragon, the old serpent, and cast him out of heaven, and now valiantly defends the Church of God that the gates of hell may never prevail against her, I earnestly entreat you to assist me also, in the painful and dangerous conflict which I sustain against the same formidible foe. Be with me, O mighty Prince! that I may courageously fight and vanquish that proud spirit, whom you, by the Divine Power, gloriously overthrew, and whom our powerful King, Jesus Christ, has, in our nature, completely overcome; so having triumphed over the enemy of my salvation, I may with you and the holy angels, praise the clemency of God who, having refused mercy to the rebellious angels after their fall, has granted repentance and forgiveness to fallen man.

Amen.
