For some reason the prayer of St. Francis always inspires me
Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen.

Thats become my favorite prayer, I cant memorize it so today after being profoundly moved by a presentation someone did on 9-11 and the war in Iraq, I said it quietely to myself. I guess I can say day by day my faith grows more important to me as this country seems to get more divided, I dont like the division at all going on. Its prayers like that one above that help.

2. Agreed!
It's my mantra really. If there's ever been a prayer to "pray always", that's the one, IMO.

When I hear about tragedies, I dont do it aloud really but this prayer really is so beautiful on so many levels.
