1. Yes..
I admit that I stopped going to confession some time ago. I don't feel that I should receive Communion as a result.

I worked for a few years in a Catholic hospital effectively owned by an order of Sisters. I liked going down to the 8AM Mass when I knew the day ahead would be stressful - it was astonishingly fast, since employees, doctors and Sisters had to get where they were going. I'm very certain that some of the folks I saw trotting up to receive Communion were not in the proverbial state of Grace. I personally can't do it.

3. Same here. I've been focusing a klot of the spiritual communion side of Mass.

2. Yes
I'm a member of the Church of England (very much the Anglo-Catholic wing of it), but for various reasons usually attend Roman Catholic Mass - I know that most Priests would be happy to give me Communion, but don't want to put a Priest in the position of choosing to ignore the official rules and think it would be wrong to receive Communion without the Priest knowing.

It's something I've noticed as a difference between C.ofE. and R.C. services - in the Church of England pretty much the only people who don't receive at every single Mass are children and any unconfirmed converts, whereas at R.C. Masses I've noticed much larger numbers not receiving.

4. That's interesting. In my parish very few don't receive. Is it true the CofE has open communion?

5. Yes - though a fairly recent development.
The C.ofE. allows anybody who is a communicant member in good standing of a Trinitarian church to receive; though if a person habitually attended a parish the Priest might well encourage them to be confirmed/received.

6. No, I still receive
I don't know what it is, but I always feel a little bit better and a little bit stronger for the week ahead after receiving communion.
