Does anyone know about The Catholic Worker?
Is it still being printed? I'm in the labor movement and am looking up Progressive periodical of the past and present. It supports labor issues and the Churches teaching on social issues.

2. Next question, does anyone read The Catholic Worker regularly -- or

irregularly, for that matter. I admire the movement greatly but have never seen the newspaper, to the best of my recollection.

before she passed away. I haven't seen a copy now for a couple of years.

4. Yes, it is still being printed
You have to order it by snail mail.

Catholic Worker
36 E. First Street
NYC, NY 10003

Cost is $.25, that's right a quarter, for one year.

Any donations over that amount are given to an affiliated charity.

5. Good grief! 25 cents a year, why aren't we all reading it!

I know Martin Sheen is a supporter of the Catholic Worker movement and helped get the movie about Dorothy Day made.

6. I read the Houston and New York Catholic Workers.
My guess is that there is a Catholic Worker house in your region. Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin are personal heros to me. Everybody ought to read Dorothy's books starting with "The Long Lonliness". The Worker movement came into being during the depths of the great depression.
