The social justice committee had a statement read in support of the DREAM Act tonight before Mass. And one of the petitions was for the passage of that act.
Hopefully that'll lead to a bit of pressure on Congress to pass that bill, but I don't see it going anywhere. Not with the current crop of right wing extremists who are clogging up Congress. The statement read at Mass included a line about how the Archbishop supported this. I would like to tell Archbishop that the Republicans got what they wanted out of them with their four flushing pro-life shell game - namely votes - and that now that they're in power they don't care what church leaders want outside of abortion.

immigrants and the poor. Our parish is very diverse with Asians,White and Indians. They are all very receptive to the homilies and have outreach programs to the poor and immigrant families of the Diocese
