Oh for dumb!
I thought that my sleep problems were returning- restless sleep at night, overlong sleeping, daytime drowsiness...then I realized that I'd slipped into the habit of having a couple pieces of Hershey's dark chocolate after supper. It's not much caffeine, but a cup of tea can keep me awake for hours!

1. Yuk yuk yuk. Good thing you realised though.
I don't drink coffee, or have chocolate (Except on easter, birthdays, christmas, boxing day), or caffeinated soft drink, so yeah, same boat, no chocolate for me in the evening (Even with Easter and B'day, which are both coming up).

But yes, good thing you worked it out.... it's kinda nice to have a simple, solvable chemical problem once in a while, change one habit, all gone.

2. I have a real problem with insomnia
With Trazodone and melatonin (and by taking my Topamax after I'd gotten up rather than at bedtime) I'd managed to get a fairly decent pattern of sleep going. I normally drink decaf coffee so that is normally not an issue. However I got on an M&Ms kick, and was eating them regularly for a while. One week I noticed I was having difficulty sleeping again and realized I'd been eating the M&M's pretty close to bedtime. I don't know for sure if they were the culprit (sometimes my pattern gets thrown off for no discernable reason) but they may very well have been).
