So, what have you heard about Vitamin D?
I heard a brief report on NPR the other morning and did a little research on the Web. It seems that a lack of Vitamin D can be associated with Seasonal Affect Disorder and odd aches and pains among other things. I know I'm taking 1000 IU a day now and trying to get outside every day. You wouldn't think I'd lack Vitamin D because I'm so pale I practically glow in the dark (The sweet children have demonstrated that they can bounce the signal from the TV remote off my skin) but I avoid the sun like a vampire because too much tends to give me migraines.

1. you get more vitamin D
from the sun than anything else, why do you avoid it? It is what you need, ...........take it slow, no need to get burned, 15 minutes at a crack will do you wonders..

2. i think you can get tested
not positive, tho. i did read about this a while ago, and i think it is part and parcel of the degradation of our food supply due to factory farming. maybe vit d is just a marker for the whole enchilada.
when you go out, i would recommend the darkest possible sun glasses, and a nice, broad brimmed hat.

3. I'm famous (Well, at least locally) for my hats.
LOL, that's why I think I'm deficient on Vitamin D. I get SAD in August and come out of it in September. It made sense when I realized that I normally spend June and July indoors or in the shade. The sun in Summer is so intense that I was avoiding it completely! Spring and Fall are the seasons I'm outside.
