3. anyone without anxiety these days should be checked
for rigor mortis!
take care mrs sniffa. i was having anxiety attacks while taking predisone recently. it is so hard to go through. trying hard to stay in the real plane, and tell yourself that you are ok, and you don't need to flee or whatever. you can't stop that med quickly, so i had to put up with if for several more weeks. i was so glad to get to that last day. course, we ramped it down faster than would have been desirable, so i was sort of flattened for a couple of weeks after that. no good choices.
sounds like at least you know what is up, which is something. hope you have good docs to help you. have you let him/her know what is happening?

5. yeah, and the worst part.
i had been on it before, and knew that it didn't work. but rheumie #5 had to see for himself. argh. i kinda agreed, since things were getting better, had pain meds that were helping, which i thought was impossible. and prednisone response was an important diagnostic indicator. but never again.
i was wishing for a little manic, tho. i was on trazadone for a while, and even in a very low dose, it really pumped me up, and all the pain and stiffnes was gone. not tired, not in pain, thank you jesus. little scary, tho. but, i know now why bipolars like their manic side. it was great while it lasted.

6. Prednisone...
Unless my asthma is completely out of control, I stay away for reasons similar to your own I'll bet.

Opiates make me sick, all the usual things people take to get high are utterly boring to me, but Prednisone...

7. Chemistry. When I was in my 20s and 30s, my brain did that.
And as far as I could tell, in my case, it was just chemistry. Man, was I HAPPY when I figured that out! What a load fell off of my shoulders. I thought (in my recovering Catholic head) that I was doing something WRONG.

But, nooooooooooooeeeeeeeeewwww. It was just my damn chemistry. And, every year, it settles down a little bit more.

fwiw

8. trouble sleeping?
if i ruled the world- this is what would happen in psych wards- you would check in, and be asked to take an ambien, and a nice nap, and we will talk later. when you got up, you would have a nice meal of this would be repeated as often as possible, for at least 2 weeks. then we would start talking, and see about what else was needed. your room would comport with sleep hygiene needs- sound proof, lights slowly going dim, then very dark, and absolutely no disturbances.
i think this would take care of a whole lot of people. sleep is central.

10. I just wanted to say...
...that I think that it's good that you are taking a mental health day. Self
care is so important--and easy to ignore. Pat yourself on the back for realizing
that you are taking care of yourself and tuned into your needs.

I'm sorry about your rough night. I understand anxiety, and I hope things
smooth out for you soon.

:)
