I've lost four more pounds and my life feels like its slipping away.

I just got back from the doctor and I have lost four more pounds.
This brings me down to 104. It's the lowest I have been in a long
time. And its not too good when you are a 5'7" male.

Sadly, I can't get much help. I am on SSDI and have no insurance.
I am on food stamps which were recently cut in half. And, thanks
to recent state cutbacks, I make 67 dollars too much to qualify
for Medicaid (I am too tired for the requisite Jeb Bush rant).

In short, even when I *find* a residential center that will, as
a male, take me, I have no way to pay to be accepted.

Wasting away, one short day at a time.

It sucks to be me.

1. Listen you may be past a point here
you gotta get on this now okay...it gets dangerous from here on in and the more shrunk the stomache gets the harder it is to get it working enough for you.
Make believe there are no social services (it's happening fast )
we have to get you operating again and you need your strength to get better not to look for a place to get better.
You have any familly or friends locally ? What can we do here for you ? see this is past talk, this is physical now and it's nothing to be ashamed about, consider it a little bout with the flu or whatever it takes. Look we live in a country of muscle heads
and it would be cool to be a brain in a bucket to show the wolrd but you have to keep enough strength to operate your brain.
I don't have my shit together but how can i help.p.m. me and i sure will try.

2. You really need to contact the help you have at the community center
that you mentioned in another post, derbstyron.

Today rather than tomorrow.

Please do not waste away.

4. Hang in there, derbstyron
I wish there was a way that I could help you. You mentioned in another thread that you are anorexic. My mom suffered from anorexia at one point in her life so I know what a tough illness that can be to overcome, and compounding the case is that you currently do not have anybody to help you out with it. My mom had to be admitted to a hospital due to her illness. I think she weighed 80 lbs. and she's 5'2". She got the help she needed and is now a very healthy person. Even more so than I even though I am 20 years younger than she.

Go to the hospital. I'm amazed that your doctor hasn't recommended hospitalization. Or has he/she? It seems to me that hospitals do charity work. I had a friend who has diabetes who needed hospitalization. He was poor and didn't have health insurance. They told him not to worry about paying. That was in San Francisco. I know that they cannot refuse you treatment and it seems like you are in a life threatening situation.

5. God, Derbstyron,
there must be a way for you to get inpatient treatment if you really need it. Doesn't your doctor have any suggestions?

The health care system in this country is so f*cked up! It makes me so mad!

8. derbstyron, once you reach such a place, it's hard to do the work yourself
Is there anyone here who can help him? I know from personal experience that once you get past a certain point, about all you can do is lie in bed. Can someone help?

If nothing else, I can call the number given on your behalf and be the shield between you and the person on the other end.

9. PM me
I've been through my own struggle with anorexia, so I can at least relate. Also, are you familiar with the website www.somethingfishy.org? They have treatment finders and such on there, as well as discussion boards and chat for support. It's a great place to go. Please PM me if you need some extra support.
