i think that all in all it was a good experience to be kicked out, and have to support herself. even tho we were still there for the college expenses, she didn't really look at us for money. at least until the stupid dog attacked the neighbors dog. but they had their share of bullshit. they lived in a crappy apartment, and had bedbugs (quite the scourge in chicago these days). she, of course, ended up buying a new mattress. she got to learn the lesson of how good people end up being the stooge. it is a great feeling to see your kids grow up. they start to realize that the shit that you pounded into their heads was for a reason.
she does seem to have pulled it together pretty well. she needed lots and lots of help to get through adolescence. but she seems to have come though it. it will be interesting now that she is back to see how she does day in and day out. but she has managed to do well in school, and hold down her job, so...
yup, something to be thankful for, fersher.
