woohoo. kiddo dumped the boyfriend!
can you see me doing the happy dance? i bet you can.
she announced the other day that they were split, and that she has a new boy on the horizon. she didn't offer too many details, but little sister tells me that it was mostly about mooching off of her. he owes her $3k for rent and other things that should have been split, but she ended up paying for. sat on his ass playing video games while she scooped dog poop in the cold and went to school full time.
for those of you that know about the dog thing, i knew that dog (pit bull) was his idea. which it was.
now both these girls think their mom can see through walls and around corners. can you say win-win-win-win-win?

1. Good! Just today my mom and I said the impossible to each other --
that my bro is so lucky to have divorced his wife. We watched her be that girlfriend, if you know what I mean. But didn't say anything, just tried to be family for 10 years. Two children later, she was still that girlfriend and a toxic influence on everyone.

She's a very unhappy person and I'm glad my brother doesn't have to deal with that any more. They met in college.

A good day all around. :toast:

3. she has really grown up.
i think that all in all it was a good experience to be kicked out, and have to support herself. even tho we were still there for the college expenses, she didn't really look at us for money. at least until the stupid dog attacked the neighbors dog.
but they had their share of bullshit. they lived in a crappy apartment, and had bedbugs (quite the scourge in chicago these days). she, of course, ended up buying a new mattress. she got to learn the lesson of how good people end up being the stooge.
it is a great feeling to see your kids grow up. they start to realize that the shit that you pounded into their heads was for a reason.

she does seem to have pulled it together pretty well. she needed lots and lots of help to get through adolescence. but she seems to have come though it. it will be interesting now that she is back to see how she does day in and day out. but she has managed to do well in school, and hold down her job, so...

yup, something to be thankful for, fersher.
