You win some, you lose some
A couple months ago, I managed to ween myself off Lexapro, at the suggestion of my doctor. Unfortunately, things have gotten very bad for me again over the past few weeks. I'm not sleeping right, I'm tired all the time, I'm nervous, and the cognitive distortions are off the chart.

To top it off, my home was burglarized Wednesday night, while I was asleep. To say the least, this has scared the crap out of me and has not contributed to my mental health situation. They took a couple of laptops (including one owned by work), my stereo, my MP3 collection and (worst of all) a guitar I've owned for 17 years, and played and recorded a couple CDs and several major gigs. And the guitar is only worth about $300, which is the real kicker.

So I talked to my psychiatrist today, and I am going back on Lexapro. In addition, the doc is doubling my sleep medication as I am still having issues with that.

Sometimes life just sucks. This would be one of those times.

2. i wonder if you could get that guitar back.
is there a pawn shop in your town? i had a bike stolen once, and the cops told me that if i was willing to pay to get it back, i should go to the bar around the corner.

that really all sucks. having your home invaded is really something that can work on your sense of security. yuch.

4. nnns...
 I was sorry to hear about the burglary, and while you were sleeping no less! How invasive and frightening that must have felt!

I also take Lexapro along with the new meds. It is my friend

Feel better and keep us posted.

Jenn

5. Hey laylah...!
Yeah, life is just a giant shit sandwich again, lately. Since the break-in, I have not been able to sleep there. I am spending a few more days with my mother. Additionally, my girlfriend has suddenly grown distant and isn't returning my phone calls. All this in addition to the depressive episode. I was very close to going to the hospital today.

I've been on Lexapro before and it seems to work okay. In fact I went off it back in April and was hoping to stay off it, but no such luck. Oh well. Whatever works, I suppose.
