This is Kid the first night, trying to figure out where the beach went.


Having Lucy around seems to help her, though. Lucy is 13 and doesn't get upset very easily.


Everyone was pretty wiped out that first night.


That clutch of buildings under the smog is downtown San Jose. The view is pretty at night but hard to shoot.


This is the road into the place.


Nothing is safe from the horses around here, not even the trees. lol


They're nice to look at when you're not swatting them away. :)

as I do when feeling particularly shitty. The news of your move and the pics you posted gave me an immediate feeling that this might be the beginning of the solution. I think, as I get older, that there are roots of comfort that even thinkers and feelers can't access unless we put our feet on a different ground.
