HBP *SPOILER* emotions question.

Did anyone else just SOB when Snape....killed...Dumbledor? I had tears going and then I just started sobbing and couldn't stop. And then I cried the rest of the book, but most especially when Hagrid found out...And when Hagrid moved the body....and then when Hagrid put the body on the table for the funeral. I could just imagine how the poor man felt. This man was basically his father since the time he was 13, and now he had basically no one. And it rips my heart out. :cry:
Oh, and there's no way Harry and Ginny are done. She doesn't take orders from anyone, and in the last battle, she's going to be right there with Ron and Hermione. As will Neville and Luna, I believe.

1. Dumbledore was even a bigger loss than Sirius for me.

It left me totally unsettled to read and experience both deaths. Dumbledore has so much knowledge that went into the ether when he left. That was my big lament and my surprise was how long the sadness lasted. Hagrid was most befitting a british gentleman in his behavior with DD's body. I thought it paralelled opposing ends of the grief spectrum with Hagrid emoting and Harry internalizing Dumbledore's death.

I have a wild theory about polyjuice potions playing a huge part in Book 7. Fawkes exhibited some strange behavior as well - why was DD's hand not cured, why could Fawkes save DD at the end? Why was Fawkes not be DD's side as soon as he returned. And why did DD not send a message to Fawkes that he was on his way?

JKR: No Luna and Neville as a couple.

3. This was definitely the most emotional book so far for me

There were times at the end of the book where I would both laugh and cry on the same page!

Unfortunately, I knew from the beginning that Dumbledore was going to die. I figured that out by reading the names of the chapters.
But even though I knew it was coming, it was still a shock.

I know it's crazy, but I'm worried about Snape and Draco. I feel like Dumbledore that everyone needs second chances. And third chances. I guess it's the bleeding heart liberal part of me.

I was resisting reading the names of the chapters or even looking at the cartoons.

4. I finished the book last night, reading the chapters where

they return from Hogsmeade back to Hogwarts and forward. I was stunned over this. I kept hoping there was a magical reversal to the end. As saddened as I was by Sirius' death, this one had far greater impact on me. It's left me breathless. Completely bummed. I want to cry, it is so upsetting (I rarely cry over books and movies).

I also can't decide if I am more upset by Snape's duplicity, his ability to murder Dumbledore, or simply DD's poor judgement of Snape. One would think that with Snape's history, DD would have checked him out more completely, including his story of remorse. But of course, Snape is an incredible occlumens, so that would not have been easy.
