Steven Erikson's Malazan Book of the Fallen

Anyone read this series? I was thinking about starting it due to some reviews I read on B&N, but thought I'd get some input first. Is it worth getting into?

My handle is proof of my opinion :D

It is initially very slow paced and can be hard to get into due to the rather large number of characters, places and parallel storylines.
However, it is some of the most original and complex epic high fantasy around; pick up the "Gardens of the moon" and try it.
