Especially Rushdie's question, and her response.
His opinion was, if I can pick it out of his conversation, is that every prediction and the conclusion of the series hinges on Snape.
Rowling confirms that, and says flat out that Dumbledore is dead. So Snape really killed him.
Of course, that does not answer the question, "Did Snape kill him for Draco/Voldemort, or because Dumbledore asked him to? Was Snape being loyal, or disloyal, to Dumbledore in that moment?"
It also doesn't preclude Dumbledore's future involvement. Not a reappearance, like Gandalf, but I'm sure he can wake up in his portrait and do some running around. He ought to be able to show up just about anywhere, with all the Dumbledore trading card portraits out there.
