A complaint about Terry Pratchett's Discworld series
One of my least favorite of the lesser major players in the entire series has got to be Cut Me Own Throat Dibbler. He's a throwaway character, exactly predictable, and the joke that spawned him was barely sufficient to drag itself all the way through the first book that featured him. Even the name-joke is exhausted after the second or third mention. I suspect that Pratchett conceived him as a bit player but was forced to keep using him, because for some mad reason he is again and again listed among fans' favorites. :wtf:

What am I missing? I see the joke. I understand the joke. I "get" the joke.

But it just doesn't strike me as amusing--certainly not enough to stand out against the background humor of the setting.

1. Way to go Orrex.
You complained about Pratchett and now he has early-onset Alzheimer's.

of course, it could be a coincidence. You should post a complaint about J. K. Rowling and see what happens. ;)

2. Hey, my complaint was posted weeks before the news broke
But I did feel kind of bad about it, as a matter of fact. I'm deeply saddened by the news of his illness and greatly impressed at his graceful handling of it.
