New Fantasy titles for 2010

The first two items are pretty exciting.

"Fantasy Series Continued in 2010

* When Robert Jordan passed away in 2007, a world of fans mourned for him and for the early demise of Rand Al'Thor. This year, those fans had better brush up on the history of Andor since Sanderson's first-of-three Wheel of Time sequels is coming out. Jordan's wife chose Sanderson in December 2007 to finish the series using Jordan's extensive notes. The book is entitled The Gathering Storm was released at the end of 2009, and supposedly, Towers of Midnight, the next installment should be out in late 2010.
* Another favorite to be continued in 2010 is the Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. Book Five, A Dance with Dragons, is scheduled for release in September. Fans will finally get to see where Martin takes characters like Jon Snow and his Stark brethren, the Lannisters, and Daenerys Targaryen, who has yet to return to Westeros, but who seems tantalizingly close to doing so.
* The Republic of Thieves and The Bastards and the Knives by Scott Lynch. The first is the continuation of the now-famous series centered around the character of Locke Lamora and his group of friends called the "Gentlemen Bastards." The latter is a prequel supposed to be released toward the end of 2010. Both are bound to be excellent reads. Lamora is destined to be one of the most famous thieves in our world as well as his.
* Dust of Dreams by Steven Erikson, is his newest installment in the Malazan Books of the Fallen. Released in Europe in 2009, it is set to make its debut in the U.S. in January 2010.
* Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss, Day Two of The Kingkiller Chronicles, is due out in May 2010. This is bound to be one of the best-selling releases this year. Rothfuss' first book, Name of the Wind,was so good that it took the fantasy-reading public by surprise. They won't be surprised by the second, but they wait anxiously.
* Rats of the Ruling Sea by Robert Redick will be released this year, too. The first book, The Red Wolf Conspiracy, was another smash-hit debut. 2009 was a good year for first-time fantasy authors.
* Terry Brooks has written a new book in his famous Shannara series. Bearers of the Black Staff is to be released in August 2010, and anything by Brooks is worth a look.
* Watcher of the Dead is the 4th book in J.V. Jones' Sword of Shadows series. There are a lot of readers who've been waiting a few years for this one. The world of Raif Sevrance and Angus Lok is one of the most unique in the fantasy world.

Probably had to sit on release of the next book to coincide with the development of the tv series.
