Started reading some Brandon Sanderson

A while back, my birthday book haul included Sanderson's Elantris and the Mistborn trilogy. After hearing he was selected to finish the Wheel of Time series, I wanted to check him out. Finally worked my way through my to-read pile to the Sanderson stratum, and wished I had moved him up a few notches to read earlier!

I just finished Elantris a couple weeks ago and started Mistborn recently. I have to say, it's been a while since I've come across fantasy writing that really stands out, and I see why he was picked for WoT. Interesting characters, fresh and well-developed worlds that are devoid of tired fantasy cliches, and it's a pleasure to read. This is an author to watch. I highly recommend his work.

1. I'm nearly finished with the Mistborn series

I think I found a new favorite author. Really imaginative work, fantastic characters, just great stuff. Anyone else reading him?
