1. I remember it well!
The "Eye of Argon" is arguably the worst written story of all time. I have very fond memories of attending Cons over 20 years ago, when public readings at midnight of the "Eye of Argon" would never fail to reduce both the readers, and the audience, to hysterical tears. The afflicted reader would then pass the manuscript on to the next victim, who would then read as much as they could before suffering the same fate.

Audience members would often try to act out the scenes portrayed in the story. Not many people can keep a straight face when confronted with people acting out their versions of 'sagging nipples', for example.

I still have a paper copy of the manuscript, typos and all. It appears to be the source of the electronic one linked above.

Good times, good times. :D

3. The quality of my life is forever reduced...
...by not knowing the final fate of Grignr and Carthena; and if they survived the blob 'sloozing' up his leg.

Alas that this masterpiece was never completed.

6. Holy Crap!
The mythical 'lost page' has been found!

I'd never seen the 'zine that TEoA had been reprinted from; when I was involved in Fandom it was pretty much taken for granted that there were no known copies in existence. To see a PDF scanned version is kind of like the holy grail of geekdom.

Pardon me while I send off that link to a friend of mine that I used to attend these things with; she's gonna die!

Thanks much! :toast:
