Jon Snow's death was a bit of a punch in the gut. I wonder if Melisandre is going to bring him back to life the way the Red Priest brought back Cat?

I wish Sam's POV had been picked up a bit more, as well as Davos'. I don't think Bolton actually killed Stannis, although it's possible, and I do think he has Mance Rayder. And the Free Folk are going to sweep south and take Winterfell in revenge.

Arya's plot is turning out to be quite interesting. Sansa wasn't even in this book.

Nice to see Cersei get some humbling.

I wonder if Brienne is just retrieving Jaime to put him back in Cat's power.

Danaerys is hooking back up with the Dothraki. That's a development I definitely did not see coming. Also in the east, I'm enjoying Tyrion's POV, as usual.

Finally, nice to see Varys resurface. And he's been there all along, the true Targaryen creature.

Oh, and Ser Robert Strong. Is there any doubt that this is the reanimated Clegane, the Mountain?

1. I finished it!
Not too many thoughts other than I hope the next one isn't in 5 years!

2.  A couple of thoughts
Jaime is in mortal danger I think. Cat/Stoneheart intends to hang him I believe. Jon Snow may not die truly but come back as some form of wight (I suspect Coldhands from A Feast For Crows to be Benjen Stark) Otherwise I pretty much agree with your thoughts.

4. Word that
I'm pretty sure that Coldhands = Uncle Benjen. That's why he knew Bran's name.

I think that Brienne coughed up Jaime to save her own life.

The whole Meereen plotline got really boring pretty quickly. Dany needs to keep her eyes on the prize and to hell with the slavers. And GRRM must have really reached deep to pull out the long-lost Targaryen heir.

I was screaming bloody murder when Jon got stabbed! AAAAAAAH! I don't know if he's dead, but Ghost is gonna make sure those two Crows are! My personal theory on Jon's parentage: He's Lianna Stark's son, and his father is either Rhaegar or Robert. More likely Rhaegar.

I love Arya! She's my favorite character!

5. I don't think Jon is dead.

He left that one as a cliffhanger, so that makes me think he survived.
