A book that's a true hoot - Grunts - by Mary Gentle
Edited on Fri Jan-14-05 09:46 AM by Walt Starr
This is the classic tale of the Last Battle between Good and Evil with a fun twist. It's written from the Orc's point of view! When two halfling thieves and a small contingent of Orc escorts steal a dragon's hoard for The Nameless Necromacer, the rapid fire weapons they find have a magical effect on the Orcs, transforming them from brutish tribal warriors into disciplined Orc Marines!

This book is just plain FUN!!!!

1. Fun book
I read it a few years ago now, but I remember it being a pretty good book, and a humorous take on the typical Lord of the Rings last battle found in so much of fantasy these days.
