Photoshop Question
I would like to buy Photoshop, however, I am not sure if the new CS is worth the difference in cost. Amazon has CS for $600 but Version 7 for $150 - sans book and box - but new.

Does Version 7 handle raw files? I have a D70 and primarily shoot raw.

Also, what other new features are there that might justify the extra $450??

1. They had a plug-in for 7
to handle RAW but I can't find it on their site now. I use version 7 and have a D70 also. I use XnView to open RAW files then onvert that to a TIFF and open it in Photoshop. www.xnview.com/

Eventually I plan on buying Nikon Capture but it still makes me mad they charge you 1000 bucks for a camera then don't supply the software to get all the functionality out of it that it's designed for.

10. Nope
They included a demo. Lasts just long enough to get you hooked on it so you'll shell out another 100 bucks. I really liked the remote control feature.

3. I heard they no longer sell the plug-in for Nikon. It will open the
raw files though. Also, it's for sale for $100 and I was just looking for the site that is selling it.

6. You get the CD's only, not books. You have 30 days to register it
or it self-destructs. Really. So you can't pass copies around like the good old days.
