Annthrax Coulter in Popular Photography (my LTTE)
So, I pick up the April issue of Popular Photography to check the D200 review and 30D preview, and what to my wondering eyes should appear but a feature article on a photo shoot (in more ways than one) featuring Annthrax Coulter getting in some target practice at the Taxi Driver gun range.

The following is my letter to Popular Photography:

I note with some interest that Popular Photography has decided to dignify far-right pundit Ann Coulter (who, among other things, advocates clubbing liberals with baseball bats, bombing the New York Times offices, and forcing Muslims to convert to Christianity) with a gun-range photo feature in your April 2006 issue.

It made me wonder what's coming next. A test shoot at a neo-Nazi rally, to see how DSLRs handle those critical shades of brown? Or maybe high-ISO, natural-light shooting at a Klan cross-burning? Truly, the possibilities seem endless.

1. Are you fucking serious?
What "technique" were they discussing in the photo feature? :eyes: The kind of filter you need to use on a guy to make them look "girlish".
:spank:

Who was the photog? I'd like to see if he/she has a web site with a comments section.

Tell Popular Photography to shove it. That is total bullshit. Now the slugs are infesting photography.
:wtf:

Best magazine on the market IMHO today is...

2. The photographer was Michael Lewis...
...and the photo session was originally for Esquire. (I can only hope it was for a "Women We Detest" feature.) No web site for Lewis that I can find from the magazine.

Well, despite the rumors posted by some here, it's kind of hard to disguise Annthrax's gender, especially in a tight-fitting tank top. But that face...I haven't seen an expression like that since Night of the Living Dead.

And here is the photog's site.... Not sure why PopPoop featured the Zombie shoot and not one of his other ones.

5. My daughter got me a subscription to that one
for Christmas. A lot of it is over my head, but there is quite a bit of interesting stuff in there.

4. Shame it wasn't an article on forensic photography techniques.

7. One thing I've noticed since becoming a full-fledged photographer
from just being a writer who shoots photos, is that photographers are a lot more liberal than writers.

I don't know what PP was thinking when they put her in the magazine.

I think your LTTE might get published. I might fire one off also.
