Poll question: Which Screen Resoltution do you use?
Edited on Sat Mar-18-06 06:09 PM by bvar22
This makes a difference in viewing photos on DU.
I like to be able to see the entire pic without scrolling up & down to see parts of the photo.

I have a 19" monitor, and commonly use 1024 X 768 resolution.
After conceeding room on the screen for the FireFox browser Toolbars, the longest vertical axis that I can view without scrolling is about 550 pixils.
It is possible to see an entire image that exceeds the 550 vertical limit if you to "right click" on the pic, and hit "view image", but that drops the resolution of the whole pic down to a smaller size and sometimes introduces distortion.

I'm curious if this resolution (1024 X 768) is common for most users.

Whis screen resolution do you use?
(Right click on a blank part of your desktop.
Click on "Properties".
Click the "Settings" tab at the top.
Read the Screen Resolution lower left quadrant)

1. I generally have mine set on 800 x 600
but only because when I type, which I do for a living, I like to see the bigger print.

3. 1600x1200 for me.
19" monitor at 1024? Really? Will it not do 1280 x 1024?

5. I sometimes go there (1280 X 1024),
but I like to read DU with my feet up on the desk, pushed back in my EZ chair, with the cordless keyboard in my lap.
I can't quite read the fine print at that distance.

My system can easily push the higher resolutions, its my tired old eyes that can't keep up.
