I had the most frightening dream last night. I woke up scared to death, and this is very unusual for me as I usually don't remember my dreams at all and I hardly ever have nightmares.
I was with a friend of mine at some hotel down around Juneau or somewhere, close to a glacier. We were sitting in the restaurant eating when I noticed billowing clouds of what looked like volcanic ash out in the street. The building started shaking a little bit, and we ran out into the street to see what was happening. Apparently there was a volcanic eruption somewhere just out of sight. The sky was darkening with ash, and the glacier was melting. Everyone was standing around watching this huge wall of mud and ice coming slowly towards us, kind of paralyzed watching it advance, like the people watching the tsunami coming in. But I was thinking, oh, crap, AND ME WITHOUT MY CAMERA! because I had left it up in the hotel room. I'm missing these GREAT SHOTS! I started to run back into the hotel to get it, even though the ground was shaking and the mud was getting closer and closer. My friend was trying to grab me to run, but I was determined to get the camera. She had to run off without me, and I was screaming after her, "I love you, Lisa." (She's my best friend and stood with me at my wedding.) I wasn't sure if I could get to my camera before the building collapsed, and I was panicking because I didn't want to lose it, and I wanted those shots so bad. The last thing I remember before I woke up in a cold sweat was wondering if my homeowner's insurance would cover the camera if it were lost.
What do you think? Am I obsessed or what?
