I can live with this.
Used a tripod, upped ISO to 400, Shutter Speeds over 800, upped the
in camera sharpness one step (using fine JPG today). Punk day for photos, very hazy.

This post is in response to one I posted yesterday in which I was disappointed in the performance of my lens at full zoom.

The corrections were applied to the photographer, and the results are much better.
I was paying close attention to the tripod and camera stability, and noticed that there was some camera movement upon shutter release no matter how careful I was.
I ordered a remote today, and will probably invest in a sturdier tripod for this heavy camera.
Thanks everybody for the suggestions.
I love this forum.
